  • fantastiskt

  • Like you, I definitely prefer beginning with shape and defining black and white values, but when the time comes to add the colors, I end up with quite the dull result. This is likely due to me not being skilled enough to combine multiple colors over the black and white in order to create realistic skin tones.

It also seems that if I take your route and lower the Flow, the brush strokes become spaced-out circles...too non-flow-y.

...How are your colors being laid over your painting so smoothly?

  • Holy balls!

  • this is just awesome, Henning!

  • Goodness at the layers...I use at most at one time 4 to 12 but flatten them...lol. My laptop just can't handle all that. Not to mention the video capture running at the same time. But I see that you do have the technique. Very impressive. My latest painting is about 45 hours. And, you said this one is just a few. I am stunned at the quality in just a short time...two thumbs up my buddy!

  • You are a genius!!!

  • OMG

  • Mindblowing stuff! Love your pictures at DeviantArt as well!

  • Mad skills, man.... truly.

  • Steike... Du e flink.

  • Sei meg, ka verktøy e d egentlig du brukar heilt i starten der? Når du legg grunnlaget i svart/kvitt? E litt nybegynnar i photoshop, ser du...

  • Jeg bruker helt vanlig brush tool gjennom hele tegneprosessen :-)

  • This only took a few hours? Wow, you are so skilled o.x I really liked how you worked in black and white first. You are right, it really does help with getting the forms down easier. I think I'll stark working like that now.

    Keep up the awesome work!

  • yeah please do tell us...

  • Awesome.

  • Thanks for replying =-]

  • Why the black n white version first? Does it make getting values right easier or something? I'm very curious.

  • Yes, I prefer starting out with shape before even thinking about colours. Having a good base with good values and contrast is key. Some prefer starting out with colours, it just depends what you prefer personally when it comes to work flow.

  • Cool shit.

You got some serious skills there so just keep doing what you are doing and hopefully you'll have some vid to more of our songs also =)
