My school did Chicago this year, and it was great!! Normally, risque plays like this are often modified so they can be performed at schools. My school modified it a bit. They do the same thing with Rent.

i think it's funny that they're dressed pretty provokative, well 'curved', good looking, but they wouldn't say ass, spread eagled, and a few other things. it's a great act, best high school one yet. it's just funny that they weren't allowed to do some things like in the movie

i completly agree! it wasnt that they didnt want to..but the student director that we started with was a prude and didnt think it was appropriate. oh well lol

The choreography was pretty great.

very minimal front lighting with decent back lighting, good use of the red back light and good emulation of light flooding into a dark cell through a bared window. 2 thumbs up to the light designer, could have been a bit more convincing in the monologues but all in all very good

It's good, we also did this song for one of shows! Except our school is a little more....free I guess. We got to the say all the "ass" and stuff, our teachers WANTED us to stress those words out. My teachers are freaky that! The audience loved it! Weird though, our second girl the "six" one, sound EXACTLY LIKE THE ONE IN THE MOVIE!NOT KIDDING!

especially considering this was a high school, this was pretty damn entertaining. While all the girls performed very well, the one playing Velma Kelly I think had the most passion, especially with her words. Very well done!

I understand they just won't let you say certain things ('Single my foot", "...having an affair", "you been seein' the milkman"), but they didn't allow you to say 'Mormon'? Wow. I mean, that's what Mormons do...now if you were insulting, I could understand that, but wow..lol

Also, may I say it's refreshing to see them actually saying the lines themselves? Even if it was edited a bit, it just adds to the effect. Besides, some people are really bad at lip syncing!
