depends on how you attack the string. people tend to put more force into downstrokes, and when your muting that makes a big difference.

yes upstroke plam mutes sound empty and hollow. where as downstroke ones have thump and more crunch

actually it does, Megadeth play mostly upstrokes and that makes the chord to sound much better.. you hear the whole chord insted of just the lower strings.. It's good to vary .. sometimes ups, sometimes down.. whatever that suits best in that particular time

If you ask the guy killemall1993 he'd probably make you one. He makes one pretty much every month, they look sweet, and he sells them for about $900 depending on the wood used, pickups, etc. He makes everything, even the neck, so you can get pretty much anything you want.

I replaced my actives in my ibanez with emg 81 85 they fit perfect easy to do also if you have soldering iron and follow diagram

Your biggest problem is the right hand, you need to get it faster. When you start playing, just tap the open E string as fast as you can for a while.

Speed and accuracy come with time but you can also practice them.

Otherwise, good job!
