Would u recommend a blow through, I have a 2002 dodge ram quad cab. I'm trying to put 2 12" rf t1s with a blow through. Is it worth it or should I just get different subs? Somebody help me out!!

@brandon210210 hey man, take it from me (i have done two blowthroughs) they are definately a last resort type of deal. it may seem like all you are giving up is some space in the back, but its a lot worse than that. you will never be able to repair the vehicle. if you have a quad cab, you should totally give up the extra seats. it may seem bad to give up a few seats, but it's totally not worth it unless you have NO room and are CRAZY about bass. also, don't use rockford t1's, they arent serious.

So I basically covered every layer of the box with vehicle undercoating. The box sat in the back and I put layers of hardboard over it. Everything drenched with undercoating. And filled all cracks with the stuff that fills cracks in asphalt. Started out gooey but hardened with age. And we cut the hole with a grinder. I would reccomend drawing the hole and having a professional cut it. Any morequestions just let me know

@ExpertOfSound Haha thanks yeah it was a fun experiment to do. And yeah i can't even begin to explain how wedged in that box is. When I take it out, IM using a chain saw. And I think I'm around 3 thou into it before price of installation of certain thingslike my fiberglass door panels.

so i checked yours out and it doesnt look too bad. why are you thinking of changing it? the thing is, with the way I did mine, We were able to put the sub in a good old fashioned box and tune them like we would anything else, whereas your box doesnt look ported. also, doesnt your bed moving seperately from your cab rip up the box at all?

@steffanan the box is not inside the blow threw it is actually overlapping it kind like of what your box does......the mounting board and the box are two separate pieces all together. They never come in contact with each other. and i stopped nearly all the flexing of my bed with a small square of mdf wrapped in marine vinyl that i wedged in between of the bad and the cab under my window. Ill try and make a video soon explaining it a little more

yeah its holding up to all rain an humidity great actually. it probalby helps that we made like an extra box on the outside of it, and sprayed every inch of everything with undercoating. as far as the dbs, its 147.7 by usaci standards.

well what that stuff is, is the stuff that you spray on the bottom of cars so that when rocks hit it on gravel roads, its not as loud. it sure works for sub boxes though haha. i do have to re-apply it every once in a while though, cause it gets scratched up and ugly.

I use that stuff on the inside of my boxes after I add fiberglass resin. It adds a great damping effect which improves SQ. Especially with my old RE XXX and my new SEs.

I am very very happy with the price i payed for the product, but, i do kindof regret buying from ed because they offer NO refunds, and NO warrantee and i was one of those people who assumed my equiptment would last. so, i would recommend thinking alot about it, but i do really love the products they put out. hope i could help.

They do have warrantee, its just that if you tear a spider they'll blame it on you abusing them, and theirs many cases of that happening. eD's reliability is kinda iffy from what I've read over the last couple years. Despite the quality draw backs on their products (their amps are awsome though!) my eD e3.8 subs are still going strong and souning great! Have you looked at the e5.12 subs? Trying get a friend with an ext cab Ranger to get one of those along with eD's prebuilt box for it.

I have 4 13av.2 subs and yea. ED will NOT warrent them for spider tear...... which happens to every single 13a ever created . ever.

Ed is decent, but the 13a's have horrible spiders.

REALLY messed up, i wish it would have turned out differently, but it can hit any mid range songs just fine but it cant hit the super lows like yours. and also i need a non stock alternator
