  • No, I didn't use any rooting agent at all. The plants were placed among some fruit trees; so, it was partial shade/sun. Never leave plants exposed to full sun. I started collecting my cutting around April/May when the large hydrangea bushes were coming out of hibernation. Make sure the stems are green.

  • Does it need sunlight at all? Thank you!!!

  • are you saying that you don't have to water them while they are still in the bag? how long do I need to keep them in the bag?

I was told to put the clipping in a jar of water and wait to see some roots come out. then I was supposed to put it in soul outside. it did not work.

I will do it as you suggest and I hope I can get my own hydrangeas soon. 10x a lot.

  • Yeah, there’s no need to water them at all as long as the bag is tightly fitted around the pot. So far mine have been in the bags for 2 months and they continue to grow. I tried transplanting them into pots without the bags and those died immediately. So, I think they will need to stay in the bags for several months before they’e strong enough.

  • @StarofParis No rooting agent is needed? how about sunlight? Also, what time of year did you do this? Thanks

  • Appreciate the tips!! I haven't had much luck so far . I live in a very humid area and was not adding the plastic bag. I'll try that next and hopefully get these things going!
