He *was* at the top in Super Street Fighter II Turbo and Street Fighter Zero 3. He was toned down (wisely) for SFIII: 3rd Strike but there's still the "Shin Gouki" version that's overpowered. And now he's ridiculously powerful again. Two Shun Goku Satsus, that cheapass double air fireball, the new double kick, EX moves, teleporting. Seth and Gouken are pathetic compared to him.
he can't be overpowered if he's not near top-tier, idiot.
Besides, his SGS is really easy to avoid - unless you're really crap, or they can combo it extremely well.
Also, SF2 Gouki doesn't count, because he was a hidden boss character that was deliberately overpowered. Shin Gouki in 3rd Strike was hidden anyway, so that shouldn't be a factor.
Besides, with those good attacks - he's balanced by taking the most damage in the game.
They carry more wait than words of somebody that doesn't seem to realise he's the weakest character in the game (health-wise). Not to mention the fact that both his super and ultra are useless - unless you're a pro and can make them virtually undodge-able......or if you're fighting people that don't realise you can jump out of the way or whatever.
thank you! i swear i was just bout to post the same damn thing, those tiers changes every 3months or so...and if you put a good blrog (boxer) player against a crappy vega(claw) tiers wont help that vega..
derekmok ur forgetting that gouki can't take as much damage as seth, gouken, and pretty much almost every character in street fighter.

errr wrong, gouki has more health than seth...

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Akuma takes it up the arse.
His mother does too.

Akuma doesn't take as much damage as he used to, although he still takes quite a lot.
His taken damage in Third Strike was just ridiculous, 6 hits and he's either stunned or at half health, luckily they fixed that a little.

Unbelievable. Why the hell did Capcom give the already overpowered Gouki a double-hit kick with such insane priority?

I think the collective wisdom and knowledge of the capcom team is much better than yours.

If he was "already" overpowered, he'd be top in every tier list for every street fighter game.
Hell, even WITH that double-kick, he isn't near top-tier...

Can't base a character solely on tiers, it only applies to a competetive community, and isn't really true.
Tiers are still opinion based, so they can never be fact, so I hope your not basing your arguement out of tiers.
