What about the following 2 words in your Bible "Urim and Thummim" find out what they mean and then you will know your prophets used stones to get "Yes or No” answers then told the people “Thus Saith the Lord” NO lord said anything, this is in your Bible several times. Wake Up!
I heard this song for the first time today on the radio because none (NONE) of the other radio stations had anything good on. All the same pop stuff I've heard twelve million times already. I fell in love with this song...however, the version I heard on the radio sounded like it was sung by an older woman. Does anyone out there know what version is played on the radio???? I know I don't have a lot to go on, but I'd really appreciate any info.
My all time favorite Gospel singer, I will never forget the first time I heard his voice... I was on the phone talking to my best friend Victoria A. (Andrews Graduate) I heard that voice in the background...I asked who is that you are listening to?...the rest is history, my children know! I live in Florida now and plan to go visit the Church he pastors. God bless you Mr. Phipps! i have gott
Sharon sorry to dissapoint you. The writer of the hymn was from England. He was slaver and became slave. Not African. He only 1st and 2nd or maybe to the 3rd line. I think some else either put in 3rd and 4th line or just the 4th line.
He has truly been gifted by our Lord, as we all are in some special way. It is so strange that I would find this under racisim. I am an older college girl, (fifty-two), and I am looking for a subject for a paper on Contrast and Comparison. So being a 'baby-boomer' and a child of the 60'' & 70's. hearing day-after-day the word 'Nigger", I became to dislike my own 'white' people with such a rage I thought it would be a good subject, and something we all know about. Love this man ...had the opportunity to hear him sing at my University , in 1995The Southwestern Adventist University in keene Tx , several years ago what an amazing inpirational singer.
Being a great fan of negro gospels, I LOVE how his baritone voice can make the jump to negro spirituals and sound like I've heard them so many times, only SO MUCH better. Today is the first time I've ever heard of him or listened to him, and I am very much a fan already.. As a white older lady, I've always wanted to attend a black church, but never did. Wintley Phipps makes me want to go even more! Love his preaching AND really love his singing!
