Ok, let's see if astrophysics can solve this. They say that the speed of light is always constant. However, when light travels near a gravitational field, it HAS to slow down because Newton's Third Law of Motion states that an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction UNLESS acted upon by an unbalanced force. SINCE gravity is an unbalanced force it HAS to act upon light. Since mass and energy are equivelant only at the speed of light this has to be true!!!
