@microkorger My work here was probably my least complicated cover: I'm running Win XP and that really has been causing me problems with my plugins and Pro Tools. You just never know when something is going to start running in the background and muck things up. Here I was lucky. Yeah! the leads were with Sampletron, Minimonsta, and Juno 92 plugins. The beats were with Maschine. I'm really happy to finally be free of the computer with the Korg R3. Many thanks Timur! : )
Really fine sound Walt! A Topnotch mix. Coming through very clear. I like how it starts with just the left speaker coming through in the beginning. Excellent cover!
This is the first time that I've mixed a song with the intent to create a stereo product. We're all aware of the Youtube audio compression issues, and I was hoping that somehow I would get lucky! It was a nice surprise that it went through in stereo and not muddy at all! Maybe YT has resolved the audio compression/picture issues from the past...I just hope that this is not a one op!
I'm so excited to be your first comment! How are you Walt! Some crazy sounds you've created my friend. Reminds me a little of Devo; what do you think? Quite a spectacular piece of music. All stars to YOU!
Hi Julie, thank you so much for saying that: Actually the full credit goes to Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider when they created this remarkable arrangement back in 1975. Regarding Devo, "Yes" Mark Mothersbaugh and Gerald Casale were highly influenced by Kraftwerk. In the Late 70's I was listening to quite a lot to the early Devo stuff: "Are We Not Men" and Duty Now For the Future" Bit's of Kraftwerk songs were making into the underground radio scene, and TV music shows...
but then MTV happened and there was synth bands all over the place: Talk Talk, Human League, Flock of Seagulls...(later) Depeche Mode. I loved the 80's!! :-) Thanks Julie
my fave kratwerk track aswell .....love that bass and drum line orgasmic ..good job

Hey Walt, Back for more! This sounds fantastic on these new computer speakers I have hooked up to a lap top.

What kind of speakers did you get?...inquiring minds want to know: I really need some new ones, too. Mine are 7 years + Creative :o/
NickDrake101 2 years ago
They are a cheap pair of insignia believe it or not. Much better than the lap top speakers.

Thanks Mark, I'll definitely look into it: My set of Creative 5.1 sounded top notch years ago, but they're old..
