Leon - thank you for playing this beautiful melody on the accordion. I listen to it over and over, and gradually learned to play it on my balalaika , by just playing along with you . Thanks for keeping the execution simple and clear. Katusha, what a beautiful peice. I heard that "Katusha" is the name of a Russian gal that inspires troops on to victory. Must have been some really special gal , as her song has diffused through out the world .

@tetracor - Thank you for the encouragement. I agree that this song has magnetic appeal. And you are correct. Katyusha was a young maiden who kept her love for a soldier alive by reading his letters. She sings a song to the sun and asks that her singing travel to her lover far away to help him preserve the Motherland as she preserves their love.

@zwanzig8 Thanks for the encouragement. I'm not sure about better technique. I'm playing exactly as written in the sheet music. If you mean practice technique, I practice each piece until I can play it accurately. Sometimes it takes a long time and lots of repetition.

It seems the bellows don't require much movement on an FR-7?

@JamieAdairFilmmaker Thank you for the encouragement. Yes, the bellows on the FR-7 is much more sensitive than on an acoustic. Whereas it was challenging for me to play 4 measures on my Hohner, especially with sustained basses and treble side harmonics, I can easily play 8 measures on the Roland in a single bellows stroke. It's a much easier instrument to play.
