Just a little note for Grandewavos, I wish you would try that disrespectful attitude here. See, in Mississippi it is against the law to fail to yield to blue lights (all LE Vehicles in the state have blue lights), and since ALL funeral processions in MS are escorted by Local, and County law enforcement agencies, yeah it is against the law. Times those blue lights by about 200 and the stress and grief that is stricken each and every officer, you would be lucky if were awarded a hospital stay!!!
One of my first funerals I worked when I was a mortuary attendent was a police funeral. Most funerals I was able to load the flowers into my van, leave 5 minutes before everyone else taking my time, and have the internment site set before everyone arrived. That was not the case with the police funeral. I forgot they all have lights and sirens and can catch up faster. Its one of the most interesting funerals you can attend, but hopefully won't see that many after I graduate mortuary college.
It is interesting how they all get drunk at the funeral and the homosexual cops start to chase the bagpipers around through the other graves. It's fun for the whole family.

Tell your grandfather to pay for his own funeral procession. They are a waste of time, just for show, and hold up people in traffic. Especially these kind that use all government property for there little parade. Nothing comes out of there pocket like it should.

Im filling official complaint about these and will make sure to stand out and protest the next one in my town.

i am a volenteer fireman and i have had a cousin who was a sgt in the fire dept here to die and he had a full fire dept funeral. i think there were 25 fire trucks and we couldnt count the police cars, and we were very comforted to see that his "brothers" gave their respects. my grandfather is a retired sheriffs deputy and he will get a full police funeral and he is very proud to say that he was a deputy.
