  • O Ronfaure! O San d'Oria!

    I'm a huge nerd, yes. :)

  • When I hear the trees rustling outside my window, I like to put this on and reminisce.

  • Greatest game ever

  • I wish forever and a day I could play this game. It's been too many years since I have, and I miss it dearly. I try to explain to my friends how much this game meant to me, but to no avail, so now sometimes I sit in my room all alone late at night listening to the ffxi soundtrack, reminiscing.

  • I remember the pain and agony leveling your sub job to 37 but it was sure damn worth it with the music

  • i still have withdrawls from this game and i only got to lv/ 22 blk.rdm taru that was like 4 yrs ago

  • This brings back so many memories :(

  • barely making it through the game fishing moat carp for hours on end.....good times good times

  • Best theme in the whole game, ronfaure easily.

  • I play WoW now but this game far exceeds it. I met friends on FFXI that were the nicest people in the world, when you explored areas you felt as if you were the only ones there. It was amazing. Makes me want to go back 7 years...gosh so many years have passed already

  • I have flags from all three starter nations plus Aht Urghan, but none means so much to me as my first. San d'Oria. Hail San d'Oria!!

    :)

  • I used to always level my alts in Ronfaure, because I loved the music/setting so much.

  • I miss Final Fantasy XI...the music was superb. The environments were unique. Good times and fond memories. FFXIV wasn't as polished as this one. I hope they make some improvements.

  • Vana'diel forever. If it were ever to end, I'd never be able to listen to this without a tear or two. Such an awesome world, an awesome game, and an awesome soundtrack to immerse you in it.

  • is FFIV awesome. FUCK YEAH

Will your computer survive it? FUCK NO :D

  • @Angelblaze2007 FFXIV Isn't all it's cracked up to be I loved FFXI

  • I'm not the only one who gets a complete and utter music adrenaline rush at 1:34, right? Right?! But anyway, I remember making a Mithra BLM forever ago and just going to Sandy as a noob so I could kill things to pretty music.

    Ahh, the good ol'days...

  • For a pretty bad game I have to admit it has some kickass tunes!

  • ...now how to replace Gridania music with this track...hmm

  • The game is alright but its the players that make the games suck so much way to much drama a lot of retarded types who can't understand that it is just a game nothing more nothing less. Guns don't fucking kill all you retards.. but they sure make it easy

  • recording this with audacity to put on my ipod :)

  • i second that: This game was a considerable part of my life for some time, and though I no longer roam in Vana'diel, I still hold the soundtracks very dear to my heart.

    part :)

  • Wow what an awesome version, sounds great.

  • such a beautiful song! us bastokans most certainly miss out on this music lvling lowbies lol.

  • When I first started Final Fantasy XI, I played an Elvaan White Mage - when I first stepped into Ronfaure, I was hooked.

  • my favorite in the game, maybe of all time?

  • damn this would be a badass theme for ronfaure tho

  • Ronfaure is like that blanket you can never get rid of, i started there and still lvl there today :D

  • I miss this place I got jobs up to qufin and I hardly ever come her except to try and get the rabbit charm from jaggedy eared Jack

  • too many memories, ive leveled almost all 20 jobs here from 1-10.

    75 sam, 75 pld ,75 cor, 75 dnc, 37 war, 37 thf ,37 nin

    -Blademage of Alexander

  • masterpiece...

  • its the most epic leveling up music I ever heard XD

  • @sexyshinyashots soo true, i started the game on this music and lets just say I fell in love, much like most others did :)

  • People who play FFXI stay strong! we'll live through the apococlypse aka FFXIV hahaha

  • Who was this composed by? Uematsu?

  • yup it was

  • @lCheatAtGolf DUR. i think this was the last game he fully composed the music for....not sure.

  • Honestly, this is good times...

    Mithra

    Blm/Whm 56/28 (i think thats right...)

    Still active

    Carby

    Respect it

    Kitty Powa!

  • whenever this song came out when I roamed the areas, I'd hum to it.

I don't play the game anymore sadly because I couldn't afford it anymore =(

  • This is just a brilliant piece of music, so soothing and it matches San d'Oria so well.

  • I remember the first character I made was an elvaan and I met some mithra WHM in this area. we teamed up, killed some orcs, and then sat near a campfire... watching the heat effects in awe.

then the orcs respawned and we died.

  • LOL same here

  • just a day in the life of Vana'diel

    lmao

  • lmfao I've done the same thing.

  • This song reminds me of one thing and one thing only...Subligars!

  • Man, just like I thought, this totally brings me back to the early days of what was to become a big part of my life for 4 years. Really brings me back. I can't wait for FFXIV Online. Take me back all over again.

  • I hear that, Soylent. I have the exact same thing in my head. I'm going to drop WoW like a sore habit when XIV comes out.

Lots of people are saying SE doesn't know how to do MMOs, but after the huge success of FFXI, I think they know what problems they need to address. I have faith SE will produce a quality MMO that, while may not overtake WoW, will produce a large enough following to make the game a success.

    /fingers crossed

  • Lol, yeah. The only thing that's going to kill WoW is itself.

...and it's doing a fine job.

  • Hear, hear on that one. Early info on XIV sounds like "XI but better"...and I am all for taking up the banner of an Elvaan (or Elvaan-style) character once again.

  • I agree wholeheartedly. There are lots of fun MMOs out there... but you don't see people talking about WoW or CoH the way they talk about FFXI. The awe, mystique, and sheer joy of having experienced Vana'diel is something that only Square can create, and I can't wait to fall in love with another new world.

  • Get ready for FF14 then =)

I played XI for years til I took a break, and came back to all my rare/ex stuff gone =(

So now I wait impatiently for 14 to come out to start something new

  • im a current player of ffxi i think i might play on ffxiv it looks like a great game from my point of veiw. but itll be hard to give up the friends i made

  • Perhaps they'll come along with you? I know alot of people I play with plan on recreating our Linkshell on 14 XD

  • Im gonna be poping both guys. cant leave my bros in XI but i wanna be on FFXIV...

    /panic :D

  • /laugh I know how you feel Ratchet.

  • reminds me of the time I spent (early days) farming gil to get the WHM spell erase. Lots of Dark Crystals from the Funguars here.

I was also faming up Sandy for the Holla scroll quest and latyer the Shiva Prime quets too.

I levelled 1-12 WAR PLD and BST in Ronfaure.

    Good times.

  • makes me miss the firs ttime i stepped into ronfaure as a lvl 1 elvaan mnk =(

first mmo i ever played was such an experience... miss my online frd

    Simian - Kujata (Hacked)

  • ff has the best sountrack ever i play wow awell but i regret quiting ff

  • me too, wow is too easy, i liked the challenge of final fantasy 11

  • I play wow and ffxi. Each have their own pros and cons, but one thing I love about ffxi is the music.

So much so I bought the soundtrack! :D

  • yep i play wow but i tried the ffxi trial and loved it, awesome gameplay, mystifying music, but the only problem i got is that ffxi does not seem to have prepaied cards =(

  • makes me feel like a noob when i was starting out

  • to everyone wondering how to get songs they like on youtube but cant get it,, here is a solution,,,,, get a youtube video to mp3 converter... DVDvideoSoft free studio offers this free software,,, it has helped me alot... i can use it to make this ronfaure video into an mp3 file.. hope this solves everyones problem... u can google the dvdvideosoft and can easily find the software :)

  • I liked FFXI's music, but that was it. No offense, to the fans though. I can see how one would enjoy it but if you are more casual you'll end up hating it.

Ronfaure's theme has always been amazing though.

  • this version is called Ronfaure and can be found on the "Tour de Japon" it is a Concert.

try to find it. i had not so much fun with searching and got it pretty expensive.

  • anyone know where to download this Orchestrated version? I'm a big FFXI fan, thanks in advance.

  • This was my first MMORPG unless Diablo 2 counts? hehe

But the music is burn in my brain just like Chrono Triggers songs once you hear them they transport you back into that world.

omg this music where I'd grind my life away untill I learned how to switch those with my own music hehe.

    I played a Taru Black Mage 75 Sylph :)

  • Amazing song, man I haven't played in a long time hopefully my profile is still online aahahaha, I would mind starting over since I didn't get that far but it would be an pain to.

  • Advance classes, too basically relearning how to play again, cause you have lvl those classes again for a sub to 75!

The missions also get more intense, and more harder, and takes more than gear, but skill, and the limit break quest fighting maat in order to get to 75 is a bitch, which depends on class, for THF it simple, if I remember right well for me!

I quit FFXI right after I got my Final relic form the dagger for my THF, which I forgot the name of, and went to WoW, so go figure lmao

  • wtf this deserves like 80000000 views cause this song is awesome along with every other song in this game. the game itself sucks tho =p

  • the game doesnt suck, its awesome

  • Then what's the problem? Were you thy of completing everything in the game and not just enjoying it? Or were you the kind of person who got to level 20 and quit because getting a party was so hard? O-o

  • ...most likely. what most people don't realize about this game is that the game doesn't even _start_ until you hit 75.

  • And parties where generally flakey all over.

  • That sounds like a harsh thing to say. Not everyone is into online RPGs. Some prefer single player more story/character centered stories.

Open your mind and stop thinking your opinion is better than someone else's, it's really sad. He/she (?) has the right to think and say what they want.

I don't mind FF11, my bf plays it a lot, though I prefer some other games. Sure you play with other people but meh. Oh and this is one of my favourite FFXI music!

  • Knowing that only drives me to hit 75 faster! >=D

  • @cinnabonboy dude wtf are you talking about ? this is prob the only mmo that starts at LVL1. There is lvl cap on many missions untill lvl 75 you will be busy getting sea and sky, Toau access, subjob, airship pass & rank mission, genkais, chocobo etc. and once you are 75 so many things to do but you will most likely lvl another job from 1 to 75 lol

i played this game for 6 years and i can say that i'm just 50% done with it there is so much shitt i havnt even tried

  • @cinnabonboy Isnt that most MMO's though? That the real game doesnt really start till you hit the cap level.

  • @Kattzman now a days thats usually how it is, though I got to say that developers should make it interesting and as fun as it is at the cap as it should be while lvling, of course Ronfaure has been the home to many such fond memories

  • @cinnabonboy I disagree, I played and enjoyed FFXI for 3 years, got one job to 75 and never so much as sniffed end game....well I did do ONE dynamis run.

  • @cinnabonboy And the rest of the sane world realizes how stupid of a statement that is.

  • I disagree, most of the greatest times ive had were just having fun and enjoying the game. Being 75 and enjoying the endgame is cool but it seems like most people get ahead of themselves and rush through the game rather than making friends and exploring. Luckily I played when it first came out so everything was still being discovered. Thats what made the game so great back then!
