He was 10 years old and because of school could only practice 2 hrs a day. when he played this with TE. Its been fun for all of us to watch this kid growing up and see how his skills with the guitar are now matching his talent. I've been at this ridiculous hobby for 40 years off and on and he was probably better than me the first day he picked up a guitar.

It's like the legend himself said in his tutorial videos, all you need is repetition. No talent + years of practice and repetition = good player.

Not completely true...i have the sheeth of tabs right in front f me now, you can tab every little pause or passing note.

But to perform it like him is a diffrent story... every time he plays this song again it sounds diffrent, its always a unique performance with every time that special Emanuel twist to it.

I hope one day ill become a no-life so i can come close to this guys like him.

Agreed, I've been in the music industry for 20 years and Tommy Emmanuel is one of the finest acoustic guitarists that has ever been. And almost as good on the electric as a matter of fact. He falls comfortably into the category of master.

Sungha seemed a little nervous, kinda dwarfed by the years of confidence in Tommy. he did well though and in distinguished company. i bet Sungha was a happy guy after that gig.

please people keep in mind, its one thing to play someone elses song, but another to actually compose it and play it originally. lets wish Sungha all the best for his brilliant future works.... :o)

Sungha does compose his own pieces, you just have to go to his page to see them, JWCFREE, I think they are really good considering he turned twelve last September.

hi andy... yeah i agree Sungha is sensational for his age. where Tommy had an older brother Phil, who is pretty dam excellent too, that he could play against, it seems Sungha doesnt have a sibling to play with.

it comes down to feel. Sungha is tight and hasnt relaxed into leting the sound flow. i just hope he maybe reads this and considers Tommys' way he plays endless road. the feel and emotion. stiff notes maybe perfect playing but the feel is everything. Sungha is close.

agent0: I don't know TE personally, but I have seen videos of him sharing the stage with other teen musicians. A boy about 14 years old, from the Netherlands, who is a remarkable guitarist and who has a lot of singing ability too, was invited onstage by TE. On another occasion, a British kid who plays an excellent guitar, and owns several high-quality guitars, spent some time with TE backstage.

TE likes, helps, and encourages kids who show promise, I'll bet.
