Yeah, the wheels are definitely at the extreme ends of the car! An excellent use of space. You'd never guess how big it was on the inside by looking at the outside.
This is def aimed at European use...It looks like the "Smart" car but without petrol! It is great...it is just a shame that the companies keep delaying this just to keep selling petrol, oil, etc...
@EctomorphicDude26 The design is aimed at the Japanese market. The gas (petrol) Mitsubishi i was a 600cc gas engine. The iMiev is even slightly faster.
Lucky you! To bad they don't consider us in the upper left hand corner of America worthy of consideration. I would like to experience the MiEV myself. I went to the Seattle auto show 2 years in a row (normally I don't) and no electric cars showed up (only 4 NEV's from local companies). GM couldn't even bother to bring either of the Volt cars here.
But then you wouldn't hear anything! :) Would make it very hard to hold the camera outside as well. It was a hot day, and there were four guys in there. I know it made the video loud, but it sure made us comfortable. Unless the camera was outside in the wind, the inside even with the windows down was pleasantly quiet.
Well, sure. But it wasn't THAT great. I mean I was totally limited by the fact that I had to pick up my daughter in like two hours. :) Seriously, there was no set course or amount of time. They just let us go at it.
I did a test drive as well this week. Very nice vehicle and allready very refined for a car like this. I got this oppurtunity at a congress for automotive industry folks (think Research&development people) in The Netherlands. This car should come to the market late this year !:)
Great! Sounds like it is officially for sale in Japan now. I guess it depends in which "market" you are for it to be available late this year. Maybe in Europe, but I seriously doubt it'll be that soon in the US.
The production has started in Japan allready, it will be sold there very swiftly now.
Mr. Morii, the chief of R&D at Mitsubishi did a speech on the congress here and stated these dates. I'd say his influence is big enough to know these things well :)
Again, I'm not clear about *which* market it will be available in by the end of this year?? I'm sure he knows what he's talking about... but I have no idea what he said! :)
First Japan in a few months time, then European RHD countries. After they realized that, the LHD versions come a few months later. After that the US is next. If you like, I got his contact info so you can ask details yourself.
NOW!!!!!!!!!!???? really???? I'm getting it, and i'll use all my power to import it to Canada if not then i'll move to Japan, but is it really out now???!
I wonder if that would qualify as the widest wheelbase of any production car? Talk about stability!

He said they are making the final preparations to put it on the market. AKA as production line test runs. If it goes well it can be any moment..
