i know it sounds stupid, but I completely forgot that Vacancy used this "Saul Bass-esque" styled opening in their credits too. :)

Now I have an actual referrence. I want to make a cartoon with THIS kind of credits sequence, what with silhouettes and such.

Very very Hitchcock ...nice homage and one of the best horror movie titles I have scene. But I think Zombieland had a better opening sequence.

I agree with you. It isn't Saul Bass this time, but they are very influenced from Psycho, which also features a motel, ran by a murderous mentally insane proprietor.
