nice, there is a little detail that i want you to explain why it happens
considering the space (or any other) as a separation character, excel will always delete this character. why is that? my situation is that excel deletes the entire word that follows the separation character and that is frustrating
I've got the EXACT situation and requirement you've done in this video. However, I have over 1000 files. what is a quick and easy way to do the process you showed in the video for a large number of files rather than opening ever single on? thanks
But I do have a question? What if i do not want to separate them into to columns. What if i i just want to interchange the position of the first name and the last name?
It looks like you are watching the Magic tricks from #1 forward. That is good, but if you want to learn how to find the exact video you want, search for and watch this video title (it shows how to search and find Playlists):

Try the next trick:

Let me know if that accomplishes your goal.

To switch first and last names, I have a few videos about this.
Find this playlist, which has them all:
Various Excel Separate Text (like First Last Names) Tricks
or this video title:
Excel Magic Trick 292: Reverse Last & First Name Tricks
But really, the playlist is the place to go becasue it has various videos for whatever trick you might want to do.
