for oily lanes is an ebonite reactive ball a good choice and for light and medium oil lanes is a Black widow a good ball choice

For Oily Lanes get something dull like a AMF Mega Friction. for medium lanes get a black widow Nasty. The main thing is the way the ball is drilled. For Oily Lanes drill a dull ball up to hook a little early and for medium lanes get a ball drilled to roll even that way the arc is smooth and predictable. Thats just my opinion.

So, how many balls do I have to bring with me when I go bowling...?..lol. I only have one. No one in my league brings more than one ball. Even if you had a bunch of balls how would you know what the lane conditions are going to be like before you get there...AND....they change throughout the night anyway.

this is where your brain comes in... you compensate and, usually, leagues have practice before you so you just feel it out on your own... it's called skill/practice, and the changing conditions means you have to compensate... transitioning boards can be tricky because if you are inexperienced you won't know which direction to move, otherwise it's all manual (meaning you have to think and do it yourself)

lanes changing is all about transition, and its pretty predictable in most houses. if you are going to bring more than one ball, you should start with something stronger, and bring weaker balls to get to after the lanes start to break down. you can always ask the counter about the pattern they put down. most houses dont change shots that often.

If you want to compete in a higher league, you ll need at least three balls.  A strong dull ball, for lanes with a lot of oil, a polished medium hooking ball and a mellow pearl ball for dry lanes. For shooting spares, it`s good to have a Polyester Ball.

speaking of slumps i was in one for 4 months. until i started throwing the rapid fire by storm its a highly reactive ball but it snaps in the back end to get those tricky spares and when you throw it right you can swing the ball and throw it hard and get it in the pocket and when it hits the pocket boy does it hard.

I think he dropped just because Columbia 300 was more appealing. This could have been as far as financial endorsement is concerned or as far as ball reaction is concerned. You have to remember that I'm pretty sure that back when Barnes was with Brunswick, that was before Columbia 300 joined up with Ebonite. I know I shouldn't put my own two cents in but I personally think it was a really smart move. I prefer Columbia 300 much more than Brunswick myself. I think I like Ebonite and Roto-grip best
