  • is the film processed using the standard c-41 process or something else?

btw i am a noob in the film world

  • that is scanner specialist for film?what type of that?tq.

  • Do you develop your film yourself?

  • Comment removed

  • How do you scan your film( I am wondering because it's all curled up)? Is it a big process or can you just give the film to a lab and they'll just do it for you? Is it a problem that one photo on the sprocket rocket is equivalent to the length of two photos on a regular camera? Can a lab not be able to scan your photos properly? Help would be much appreciated.

  • im getting an All-in-one printer from Canon, and it doesn't have negative scanning on its spec sheet, does that mean that it simply wont scan them if i put them on the scanner or that its just harder than if it supported it?

  • @U23Drocs if it says it doesn't scan negative, then it wont scan negatives.

get a canoscan9000f its economical and it scans medium format too, so incase you change formats

  • @Mijonju dang...guess that will be my next purchase. for now i'll just put my negatives against my monitor with a black word document and shoot through them with my DSLR

  • does the scanner scan the digitaliza frame too???

  • I was wondering if the hp c4795 photosmart all in one could scan film because, I wan't to start getting into photography and planned on buying a holga, and lomo kino.

  • @urbanwonderspark sorry donno about hp scanners can't hlp you.

  • hi i was just wondering if you could help me out. im not sure what kind of flatbed scanner to get, im completely lost :( but... i did see one that caught my eye in your scanner. So was wondering if you could tell me what kind of scanner you have or if you can drop me some names of other ones please and thank you

  • @ARIandEliel i am using V700, but i heard that canoscan 9000f works just perfect

  • not romantic, lol. Sometimes you have to use a dslr, even if you don't wanna ;)

    still prefer polaroids though

  • Is this video sped up? Also, if it is sped up, why must it take you 5 minutes to demonstrate a product for 15 seconds?

  • mijonju i had canonscan 700f and it sucks bcoz i cant scan the whole film at the same time.it must be scaning one by one each film..i mean, if i want to scan film from sprocket rocket or spinner 360 the result are becoming fragmented even though i use the digitaliza.. i've been looking for scanner like yours, but i didnt get it. another scanner that i got is epson v330 , is it epson v330 can help me out??? thanku =)

  • you could use a glass plate

  • "You're NOT romantic" - Mijonju LOL BEST LINE EVER!!

  • are the red asnd green stripes from the actual film ? If yes, what film is that !?

  • @mmdrodrigues someone correct me if im wrong, but judging from what is says around the top sprockets, my guess would be Fujicolor Superia 1600

  • skrillex copied your hair

  • @SuprHibby LOL

  • do u develop film urself or do u let it get developed by someone and then scan it yourself ?

  • what if u dont have a flatbed film scanner? i have a scaner/printer its a HP Deskjet 4200

  • @CleoTweety f4200 or D4200? you if you have a cell phone or an Ipad you can lay it over and scan with a regular flatbed instead of a film scanner

  • @Mijonju what do u mean? i dont have a ipad, i just tried it again with my scanner/printer BUT its a HP DESKJET 4200 and it didnt work so do i HAVE to have a flatbed film scanner?

  • Is the Epson V700 cheaper in yen or something? it's so expensive in the sates! I need a good cheap scanner under $200 to scan my spinner 360 photos. ):

  • @MsBuBBLesvA get a canoscan 9000f its economical and quite useful, not too fast but just good enough :)

  • ehi minjou what you think about epson 4490??

  • @PIETROCARLINO never used it, sorry cant recommend

  • hi, can i scan my negative films right after unloading or i need to do something with it first? cos it cannot be exposed under light right?

  • @ExtraordinayEmily you gotta develop it first! :)

  • great video:D

    wish i own a Spinner 360LOL

  • Mijonju what do i ask at the hair dresser for hair like yours ;D

  • What do you mean by you're not romantic ? Just wondering, great vid btw ^.^

  • @Boatesy13511 there is a romance in film

  • Hey Mijonju. I was wondering if you could reveal what software you use to scan color negative film? Maybe you could create a tutorial on scanning?...... Thanks!

  • Btw, have you noticed any differences in film plane focus compared to the original Epson film holders?

  • Thanks for this!

But cool your boots and calm down a little man! We analog people are slow, a bit daft and very antihipsta! :) Just bring us the info, we can do without the MTV style vlog.

  • THANKS.POST MORE VIDS ABOUT LOMO.

  • hEY!!

I have a Sprocket Rocket, and i want to buy the digitaliza.

I need to know Two things:

Does a normal scanner do the work?

Do i develop the 35mm film in slide mode or c41 normal process?

    Thank you!!!!!!!

  • @gualter777 that depends on what film you are using right? no it doenst not work with any scanner, only works with films scanners, with double light thingy. hope this helps.

  • @Mijonju i am wondering where did you get your film scanner at and how much was it.

  • @Mijonju Which scanner would you recommend?

  • we are romantics lol cool one mijonju

  • hey guys , i just bought a canonscan8800F and Liza scanning mask but the problem is the 8800F scanner cant scan the sprocket :( you guys have any idea ?

  • @lonestarsadman you gotta manually select where the portion is needed, because if you use auto, your scanner a will crop the film for you.

  • @lonestarsadman did it work? cause i wanna buy the same scanner as yours and i need to know if this DigitaLIZA is compatible.

  • @adamax08 yeah , its work but the color are suck if scan with sprocket i did try everything eg; manual setting the color , so i will not recommend this scanner .

  • @lonestarsadman well u can also photoshop those color settings right? do you have some photos i can look at? because i wanna see the quality.

  • @adamax08 check out my flickr :)

  • ok so i was wondering if i got this will this be usable with my 2 in 1 scanner (cannon mp160) and wont the frames of the DigitaLIZA be scanned too? sorry for the nubbish question but I'm planning to save some money by not getting pictures of my negative.

  • wat kind of scaner do u have and use?

  • @cuddietv the international version of this scanner is called v750

  • Im thinking of buying the sprocket rocket... but I dont understand very well... if I develop a film.. will the pictures come out with the sprockets?? Or do I need the digitalizer for the pictures to have the sprockets???

    Thanks! :)

  • @aran8 if you do it at a normal film developing shop, their prints will obviously have not Sprockets, if you are scanning them on your own you can either use scotch tape or use the Digitalizer :) :)

  • ei Mijonju! is that a particular scanner? (GT-x970), or DigitaLIZA work fine with a regular scanner (the cheap ones)...where color come from?

    is that a specific film?

please help, im dying to get that digtaliza!!!...well, Im not dying...yet.

    Thanks in advance!

  • @ricardleandro you need a film scanner with back light aswell, because without the back light you film will be dark, i was using reversal film, then xpro the film.

  • HAHAHA!!..you're not romantic,pshhh

  • Comment removed

  • @donutsyrup i use a GT-x970 :)

  • hey mijonju.. which other cameras take images beyond the sprocket holes?

  • @Mijonju that uses 35mm

  • @maurmeneta you can do a few mods to the holga which lets it expose over the sprockets.

  • Does this work with a normal flatbed scanner? Or does it have to be a special one?

  • i've got a canon 700f. but i cant seem to get results?

  • @pundehmavadeh you probably told the scanner to auto expose with sprockets, you should auto expose on the photo then lock the exposure and highlight the whole film.

  • @pundehmavadeh I've also got canoscan 700f. can we actually use digitaliza? have you tried it?

  • @n1cha i dont think we actually can. because of that external light source thing. to actually use the film scanning option we have to use that external light source. i've been trying ways and ways to use it with digitaliza but i cant figure so far.

  • Hope that was an old strip of negs or you're doing a lot of cloning of fingerprints LOL!

  • @royayersrules great observation haha, i did rescan them before uploading this video.

  • Hello Mr. M. One question - does it work only whith 4 pictures at a time? The shop cut the film up!

    You are great ;)

  • @oooLINDYooo 6 photos if you are using normal 35mm cameras, if you play with overlaping or horizon camera, then it my vary :)

  • Hey, a friend of mine bought Lomo Digitaliza 120 and we are trying to get it to work with an epson v700, but the scanner's software crops the image as it wants.

could you please post a movie about how to place the frames on the scanner?

or at least could you give us some hints about how to position it?

    10x alot !

  • @DiN0DSL the program that comes with epson isn't really that good, I am using Silverfast, but there should be some really good program that works with your scanner, please do try them :)

  • Mijonju my favorite ;) Do you think this scanner is all right? CanoScan 4400F

  • @oooLINDYooo seems like a great scanner, to me.

  • can I just put it on the window, and take it with DC? lol

  • @deuxavri1 sure :) its a simple way as well.

  • the scanner you have costs 800, any other scanner recommendations that is really good for the digitaLIZA?

  • @kewyah ohh, i recomment a nice one by canon canoscan 9000f

  • FILM FTW

  • That's awesome, I was wondering how that thing worked. Looks way easier than the way I've always scanned for sprockets, that's for sure!

  • OMG~!!!

  • ah that's freaky amazing! thanks for this! ordered right away

  • @aberweger sprocket time!

  • are you using some kind of filter on your scanner--if so tell me what kind and if you keep it on all the time?

  • @Darrellx nope, i leave it as it is, i know some people have a spray to prevent newton rings and make the film stick to the scanner, but i just leave it as it is. i like the dust effect some times.

  • so if i were to get this,i could use a just used roll of film, put it in my computer than say take it(in a memory card) to wal-mart or something like that to get developed and not have to go through the hell of finding a place that develops 120?i'm new to this so idk

  • @TheIntelligence1 first you have to develop it in walmart to develop it, or some other photographic lab, once you done that you can use this digitaliaza to scan it.

but if you dont need sprockets, i think walmart scans them for you if you add a little more cash.

  • I Like Your New Hair Style!!! Is Cute!!!

  • @PekYen thankyou! :)

  • what film scanner are you using??

  • @kewyah i'm using the GT-X970 also known as the V750 for the international version.

    :)

  • what should i begin with if im new to lomo, 360 spinner or diana +f?

  • @traeben08 anything would be fine! But if i were you i'd start with the diana F :)

  • @Mijonju okey, thanks for answering

  • Using a $2 piece of 8x10 non-glare glass from a framing shop will keep the film very flat and allow greats scans right to the edges of the film, including the sprocket holes. A great alternative to those on a budget. I use it in my V500 and it works great. Very rarely do I get any newton rings and if I do I can just move the film a bit around under the glass and they go away.

  • Just a quick quick question: Will Digitaliza work in my regular Canoscan flatbed scanner? It's not a film scanner, just a regular one. :-|

  • @ethermoonlai nope, sorrry there must be a back light function on the scanner,

dont take my words seriously, but you can try using a light and follower the scanner's sensor when you are scanning the film, i never actually try it, but it sounds like it might work.

  • Hi buddy! Love the glasses, love the haircut! Interesting device, may have to get one of those, thanks for the video! Is there a 'set exposure' option on the V750 so that you can select an area and lock the exposure in, so you can eliminate the strange colour-cast that happens sometimes with your sprockets included in the scan area (as seen in my video?) I'm new to the V700 series, I think they're an awesome scanner, but I'm still learning to use it.

    Long live romantics!!!

    :-)>

  • @theplasticlens YES! just like your video! I was telling some viewers here to check out your video, its the same, you set the exposure in the computer not on the scanner, I like this scanner because i can scan alot more in a short amount of time.

  • @theplasticlens your custom made holder seems to work fine :) hehe but i wont stop you if you getting one.

  • I've always used the Kapton Film Tapes it's for computers, but it's delicate enough you can use on strips for scanning with minimal residue, but this looks way easier I'm gonna invest in one! and the whole digital film/regular film debate is always silly.

love the glasses too, I want a pair:)

  • shootin film cause i know you got soul, brothers and sisters!

  • hahahaha your face man at "why dont you just shoot digital then" rofl xD man you are so right for this youtube show stuff good work!

  • Thanks for the info Mijonju. I'm using an Epson gt-f700, which has a very narrow backlight, and white dots on the epson film holders to align the scanner. Exposure has been a problem, but most of the time, with the digitaliza, the scanner fails to recognize that there is film on the bed. I think I'm going to have to get one like yours with a full backlight.

  • hey Mijonju! Like the new haircut. have you thought about going for the full 丁髷?

Just a quick question about the scanner you use. I got the digitaliza a few weeks ago, hoping that I'd finally be able to get my holga 35s and spinners into the computer, but my scanner, an epson flat bed, does not like the digitaliza at all. which one are you using?

  • @freetacorrective do you mean your auto exposure thingy is messed up when you highlight the sprockets? because to have to auto exposure within the film, then fix the exposure level to manual then you can highlight the film with sprockets.

i am using the GT-X970 also known as the V750 for the international version.

  • @freetacorrective oops i forgot to leave the brand, its epson.

  • @freetacorrective as for the 丁髷 ill do it for fun if possible :) LOL

  • You're like the coolest person here in Youtube! Man, you rock!

  • @javaMe haha nah just doing what i love.

  • That is an awsome photo in the train station!!!

  • @soundofseventythree hehe :) spinner 360 for the win!

  • Hair is cool like me~~ XD

  • @xiongfive yeah hi 5 :)

  • This looks great! :D

  • "You're not romantic, y'know? You're not romantic"

LOL, I loved that argument for film, truly made my day!

  • @Kumomine LOL im not saying digital is bad, i have a few digital camera myself, but is just people who say silly things like, why go through all this trouble to just get a picture? ya they are not romantic :)

  • Woah, woah, does this work for regular film as well? Because I know Lomography has their own type of film, but I am not sure if it is any different than regular film.

  • @helgenx YUP any regular 35mm film will work with this digitaliza :)

  • @Mijonju Oh man, looks like I am going to have to save for a SCANNER now? Photography as a profession or a hobby is so expensive, but so worth it :D

  • AHHH mohawk!

  • @faithloh1 Yosha!!

  • mijonju, so.. its job is to just help you scan your films preventing them to curl up? or does it add an additional effect onto the scanned films? would directly scanned films look just like those using digitaliza?

  • mijonju, so.. its job is to just help you scan your films preventing them to curl up? or does it add an additional effect onto the scanned films? would directly scanned films look just like those using digitaliza?

  • @kawayan it helps you include the sprockets, those holes at the edge of the film,

most film scan holders will cover that up, but if you shoot with black bird fly, holga with 35mm converted or spinner 360, youll notice that your images will be printed on to the sprockets too. in order for you to scan it, you need something like the digitaliza

  • @kawayan actually, i think only the digitaliza can do this. if you search "sprocket scan" youll see a video by Cameron aka "theplasticlens" you'll see that he he Uses a "customized' holder, its a diy holder for sprockets, if you are not a DIY kinda person you can get a premade Digitaliza that helps you hold the film down and lets the sprockets show.

  • @Mijonju oh right. just realized that now.

oh and another thing i wanted to ask, so.. like with the black bird fly, since images will be printed on the sprockets, is this what you call 'full frame'? i wanted to get that kind of 35mm camera. what do you suggest?

(oh and i just got the harinezumi 2++ last weekend. cause i saw it on your show. :D )

  • @maurmeneta full frame is the frame in the size, if including sprockets its bigger then full frame, actually it doesn't exist, its just called 35mm with sprockets.

thanks for watching :) stay tuned.

There are many films, but there are no best film, it only depends on what and when you want to shoot it.

  • use it with any scanners??

  • @imsoaim any film scanners :)

  • @Mijonju so.. not just any scanner? film scanner is different?

  • @maurmeneta yes film scanner usually have 2 sides, the top part that gives out a kinda blue light (sometimes green) and below is the scanner, you can get a nice cheap canoscan f9000 now around 250+ i think? it definitely worth it.

  • COOL!

  • "You're not romantic." :D

  • @ofnumbers hahaha romantic people use film :)

  • skin heaaad!!! lol

  • lol 'you're not romantic'

  • Oh mijonju you and you're bad-ass hair!

  • @CharlieKdiary LOL, im gonna gell it up and look like a skunk on the x-japan concert video.. oops i wasn't suppose to say that..

  • what scanner is it?

  • @hunsua Epson v750 m :) ( international name)

its called GT-X970 for the japanese name.

  • very handy tool indeed
