one of the reason was that when the Indian armed foreces came to know that Netaji has formed their own army to fight against British. Most of the men revolted one of the prime revolt was of Indian Navy which vociferously protested against Britishers. And as we all know when the prime organs of the State revolt its impossible for any Government to run in a proper manner. Netaji's success lies in this fact which was also one of the prime reasons which compelled Britishers to leave India.

Exactly, also there is another reason. Brits feared that suppose all the Gandhian followers(peaceful) have decided to follow Netaji's way(arm struggle), they the coward brit forces would not handle it. They have already had severe loss from the small army of netaji.
