  • that was fantastic...

  • No dumbasses! GLHS stands for Goes Like Hell Shelby! and Im a Pontiac guy and shows howmuch youbozos know!

  • I test drove a GLH turbo in Sacto. Stopped at a red light and a Firebird w/400 hood scoop pulled up along side. The driver had a turned up collar & blow dried hair. He sneered when I blipped the throttle. His expression was totally destroyed by the time he caught up to me at the next light !!! Loved it !!!

  • I miss my dad's Omni. Even though it wasn't a GLH (it had the 1.8 liter engine), it still was like a go-cart when going around corners.

  • first time i seen a glh was in 1998 , guy was running 13s.. i think everyone whos seen one of these has ben amazed.. super sleeper

  • gotta love the sleeper aspect of these t'ds. i got an 85 lebaron. its gunna eat hondas.

  • Perfect shifts.

    "14# computer." OLD SCHOOL.

  • Yea I can just picture him back in the 80s going for a 'test drive' trying to figure out a name besides the coyote(to eat vw rabbits), then in the middle of his way back he says to himself this goes like hell g.l.h. is born!!!

  • Yeah i recognize that look. Mine was similar in set up. Found that bumping the advance the old school distributer way payd out HUGE power dividends. Loved picking on big block cars. It never ceased to amaze people or down right piss em off. Previous owner had peeled all the decals. Great driving cars.

  • What?

  • I've seen these GLH's for as cheap as $800, dunno why people waste money on neons.

  • @Ryoku75 Where??? Ive been looking for a year and cant find one for under $4.000. Even on fricken Ebay! I had one it the 90's but unfortunately I was young and dumb and wrapped it around a tree. Now im in my 30's and want my sleeper back! And FYI my little Brothers Neon beats up on Z06's and Vipers with a car seat in the back.

  • @uwysh2 Try searching on Jaxed, its a search engine that looks through Craigslist and other sites for the car you're searching for.

I'm just not a big Neon fan as I see those in the junkyard a lot, right behind a fleet of Neons I saw just one lonely Horizon.

  • @Ryoku75 Im not either but they are what they are!

  • @acronus It beats most modern cars while getting fuel economy that's above most modern compacts.

    Why'd Chrysler stop making these?

  • @Ryoku75 IDK if it beats "most modern cars" unless your considering non performance models. Almost anything considered at performance or fast car is not turning a low 14/high 13 or better. These cars should turn a high 14 or so with a great driver, impressive especially considering when they were made, but it wouldn't even beat a brand new V6 mustang without a few mods.

  • @testy462 Watch some drag race videos on youtube, I've see a few of these out-do a Corvette and a Camaro. They were probably modded though.

  • Ha Ha... My 87 GLHS charger was challenged to a little action last saturday by a wrx. Could not get him out of the hole, but by the top of first gear it was over, he he. Still smiling. So much fun.

  • hkh

  • I bought an 87GLHS Chargers new..A lot of jerks snickered from their big block GMs and Fords back then..A few seconds later I was the one laughing and still am

Want one?Dont mess one up,buy a plain one.Leave classic Shelbys alone. Its got all needed as-is.

Shelby MOPAR owners don't have to prove anything. Posers w/plastic wanna-be GMs aka Camaro or Mustangs,go ahead, just spend your time IN the garage stroking your car+talking crap to your no nothing friends

    Stay out of our way

    Whittier=Shelby

  • @Silverbolt8 dont worry, we "posers wont be at the junk yard, so you can take your junk right in!

  • I had a 87 Charger (#25, of 1k)) that I built a wee bit..The sorry look on those guys face in the Mustang, I saw many, many times...In those days a inexpensive American 4 banger that could run was not heard of..Everyone thought I stuffed a small block under the hood..Many were pissed when they found out it was only 4 cylinders...LOL..Mopar/Shelby

  • There were only 1000 Dodge Chargers in 87? How would I go about findind what number mine is? O_o

  • @EdSabbath If it's a GLHS its right on the dash in front of passenger..

  • Right right, sorry. I thought you meant standard Charger. Upon further searching I see that there were 7,700ish standard chargers made.

  • Allways liked those little omnis, glhs baby!

    Lol

  • Goes Like Hell=THATS WHAT SHELBY SAID HIMSELF WHEN HE BUILT THIS CAR

  • @DoubleR2007 GLHS+ Goes Like Hell Some more

  • @DoubleR2007 Shelby never made the GLH Dumb ass.. He took the GLH from Dodge and made the GLHS.. Thats the car Shelby made.. But you are right, GLH stands for goes like hell and GLHS stands for goes like hell some more..

  • I Take it the driver of the glh doesnt know shit about turbo dodges.

  • pretty sure he does if you haven't seen his other videos

  • aka rabbit killer

  • naw 2.2 with turbo

  • GLH gowes like hell

  • nicht sehnswertig;-(

  • Kid didn't know what hit him. Hilarious.

  • that is seriously the main interest I have in the car.. mave made SOOO many friends with that car. usually they pull me over and talk for a while about the car and make friends.. there is always someone faster.. its about the comradery/ friends

  • That's awesome.

  • Same as when I used to beat guys in my SHO, lots of questions from guys, fun to answer.

    Good times.

  • @wwwturbogodstoyscom exactly thank u

  • My buddy had a renult LeCar have no idea what he did to it but mustangs and camaro's wear insulted every time I had a 300zx he pulled me to 130 frome a 45 mph start 12 inch high tires LOL do know he had a kerker exzust frome a race bike on it LOL and the rpm's went nuts on it like a sewing machine

  • haha, 2200 lbs and that motor, yikes, that is awesome.

  • and thats what these cars are all about ;)

  • where i come from cars fall into the "can beat, and can't beat a 5.0 mustang" chalk one up for the 2.2! lol

  • @matthagedon as a cant beat

  • fwd turbo dodge!

  • I highly doubt that was a stock 5.0. My bro has same setup with 14psi and an A-555 in his Shelby Charger and he can hang with the new 300hp Mustangs that run 13.9 in he quarter. At 15.1 a bone stock 146hp GLH omni is about as fast as a 5.0.

  • my 88 notchback ran 13.9 stock, if the new stangs are only running 13.9, then its a shame

  • you have to account for weight aswell as the PTR ratio, and how efficent it is.

  • Thats not in 1990. At :39, the blue Cavalier that goes by is mid-90's

  • Beautiful! Reminds me of my Shelby Charger that I bought new in '83. Had the head ported, header package, twin Weber 40mm DCOE sidedraft carbs, NOS nitrous system, Turbo Z Halfshaft package, clutch assembly, and an MSD ignition. And a DC cam...Ran like a scalded ape, but the car I always longed for was the GLH Turbo or GLHS. I envy you so much...Great video!

  • I've owned both of these cars and I "think" the GLH was stock at 170 HP and the Mustang was around 235, so no the stang has more size/ power, but the weight to power ration is WAY in the GLH 's favor.

  • CLick more info.

  • I use to have a 89 mustang gt 225 hp stock

  • Funny thing is GLH in question has more horsepower than the 5.0 in the vid.

  • no dont get me wrong this glh had more power than the mustang, I like both my glh and my old use to own mustang.. just gas is better in the glhs and the handling is way better in the glh like a gocart! It is a fun car..

  • @GaiaOnline777 And what is even funnier is that the GLH has four less cylinders than the 5.0.

  • @CBodyMoparFan Boost is the great equalizer.

  • absolutely priceless.

  • getting it done back in 90! Cool vid.
