Lohengrin 2 act: Bayreuther Festspiele (1990) [part 1]

Der Lohengrin in Dresden (1982 von Christine Mielitz inszeniert und 1985 in die Semperoper übernommen, 1982 in Spanien und 1987 in Griechenland mit dem Dresdner Ensemble auf Gesamtgastspiel) gefällt MIR besser.

Die musikalische Qualität in Bayreuth (und damals des Ensembles der Staatsoper Dresden) ist natürlich erste Sahne!

Leider wird Dresden jetzt kaputtgespart, kleinere Theater "abgewickelt" - vielleicht bleibt Bayreuth noch eine Weile erhalten - ein Ohrenschmaus ist es noch.

Thats a great version!!! How i hate seing lohengrin or Elsa dressed with modern outfits it is just WRONG

I saw this production in Bayreuth in 1990 or 92. I loved it when the tide came in and then went out in Elsa and Ortrud's scene during Act 2 scene 2. You could hear the waves lapping the shore and the moon rose higher and higher. It was wonderful.

I look forward to more of your excerpts. Thank you for bringing back a wonderful memory.
