I think if Hollywood ever redid this magnificint movie, (which they better not, but if they did,) since most of the Ramones' members are dead, they should use one of my other favorite upcoming bands, Black Veil Brides to be the band Riff Randell wants to see. (And I think Scout- Taylor Compton would play a good Riff, too!)

They couldn't make this movie today. Disney, and unfortunately MTV, have ruined teens ideas of good music. If you could drag a teenage girl's face away from texting long enough, she'd only want to listen to the same prepackaged, unthreatening, awkwardly feminine ladyboy singer that her friends tell her to like. Weird. I graduated HS in 1981 and I never HEARD of this movie until just a few years ago. Although I had heard the Ramones, no one at my school that I know of was talking about this movie. It seems old-fashioned for 1980 in style and cinematography, more like early 1970s. The big "kid" movies for that era were "Little Darlings," "Meatballs," "Xanadu," etc. I saw this for the 1st time about 5 years ago and it is not a movie I would have liked as a high schooler; again, too old-fashioned.

Sadly, people aren't as cool nowadays as they were back then. I love PJ Soles. She's such a nice woman. We had a 15 minute conversation about how gorgeous and talented the Ramones were while my dad could only say "Meh, all of their songs sound the same." This was my favorite childhood movie, which probably describes why I turned out as strange as I did :)
