Monte did all his strength and conditioning training at my gym (NBD Fitness)and the entire time he was in a FANTASTIC mind frame! He said "I'm not taking this fight to stay active or for a quick payday. I'm going to win this fight! I don't care what the experts say!" In what was meant to be a "tune up" for David Tua, he was definitively beaten regardless of what the judges cards sid and EVERYBODY knows it! Not bad for a "washed up" cat!!!

at this point Tua needs to keep active (thats all it is)... and that means fighting any1 who will accept. Barrett is like someone who people fight as a "waiting" fight or "just for the heck of it" fight... No disrespect.

What Tua needs to do is destroy him like he did Ruiz... cause Haye took forever to stop Barrett after several knockdowns.

But thats always been the problem with Tua... Nobody wants to take him on.

In NZ, the population is only like 4million... Shane Cameron was the only other world recognized pro (and not much people know of him anyway). So not much activity for Tua.

Arreola's team wouldnt accept Tua's challenge, even wit the offer of $U.S 3mil. to have him down here in NZ. Arreola or Adamek would be a good fight for Tua, but we dont pick the fights

@Leweyjet didn't know that about arreola refusing,for me personally,i think david tua's best chance was between 2004-2008,vitali retired for those years(as i'm sure you know that already!)and wladimir was still a little dodgey but now that vitali is back and wladimir is unbeatable right now,i can't see him lasting no more than 4 or 5 rounds with either of them but he'd have a very good chance against david haye,actually he would beat david haye,i'm no boxing genuis,just my opinion.

Yeah, thats a fight I would like to see with Arreola. To see how well Tua would do against a larger puncher. As for Haye... Valuev was waaaaaaay old and over his prime. Hes just a cocky guy with a big mouth (sounds like a lotta fighters tho).

Im pretty sure Tua would defeat Wlad, because he dont have a great chin, but obviously Vitali would be the ultimate challenge to whom Tua's chips would be stacked up against.

But basically I think Tua is trying to get any title fight... as long as it gets him closer to Vitali. The reason I say Tua would take Wlad is that he IS one of the hardest punchers ever in boxing history. Hes improved alot in his movement since Lewis and Im sure he could find holes in Wlad's defence. But thats just my opinion

David Tua will win by middle-late knockout or stoppage in my opinion. You have got to take into consideration that Tua will be ranked number one by the WBO if he wins this fight and will have to challenge Wladimir Klitschko for the title. Tua is in good physical condition, going into this bout at about 240lbs.
