You will need some kind of wing spar. If you want to use struts, then use lightweight CF flat strips on the front and back of the wing so that the struts have an area to attach to other then just foam. I like to CA the struts to the strip and then use a tiny bit of hot glue over that to help bond the struts to the strips.

Just a flat cf strips on each side of the wing and the struts. On the 50" version of this plane, I used pretty thick cf strips though.

Cool. I am building one out of 6mm depron, 36in wingspan. Do you think that it would be safe to replace the main spar with the cf struts only?
