  • So true lol I am looking for every possible exchange student in japan video lolXD

  • My name is Katerina too. And I chose the nickname Kat too, but I hate when people call me Katherine. cool vlogs.

  • You speak German! I'm so jealous. My parents never taught me. =(

  • Wow! I'm sure this video will take you back from your excitement to going to Japan. I was totally clueless back in high school so I never thought about doing an exchange program but now that I'm in college I'm definitely going to do the study abroad in Japan! :D

  • Love the enthusiasm!

  • oh myyy god you had short hairr :O

  • @parychannel

i mean long hair but its still short

  • Haha, I was so ignorant to my possibilities when I was at your age. I'm happy for you.

  • love your new haircut

  • So your going to graduate from the japanese school?

I guess ill subscribe seeing that your leave isnt that far away.

  • awesome!!

  • Wow, your really lucky.

I actually have a ciee booklet thing in my room that my friend got me from a college thing...

    It's too expensive, so I couldn't go. But you're really lucky :)

  • aww thanks!

actually, I was REALLY lucky because I applied early enough to get the old price! which wasn't 14000 yet....

maybe you can find a scholarship? because a year abroad can be really life changing... :)

  • council of international educational educators

  • Hi Katrandom. :-) Its me Justin. I was just wondering out of curiosity ut have you now returned to the US from Japan? It has already been one year. Just wonering. I am currently in New Zealand.

  • Sorry - I think you have misunderstood! I haven't even gone yet. I'm still in the States. I will be going this coming August (2009). I made this video a year ago, saying that I wouldn't go for another year :) yea i started the whole video thing a little bit early....

  • yeah I want to go to Japan as an exchange student!!!

    thanks for posting ;)

  • *raises hand* Is guilty for trying to find every possibly thing about exchange to Japan. Lol xDD

It's so cool that you're going. I looked into ciee and many other programs and I have a question. Why did you choose them? Sorry for asking lol. Please do one on school life when you DO go! I think that's the part that worries me the most lol just how different /or if it's that differnt/ it is. nice video and CONGRATS on getting to go lol

  • hey im on japan exchange this year with ciee,

and i just wanted to say, that since your probably already accepted, and i assume that your leaving next august,

i would say, that you should specify to them if you want to be near tokyo, and also the siblings, because if you want a host sister, and are worried about living with a brother

my first family had no kids, and even though i have a host sister now, i also have a host brother just 2 years older

  • wow! didn't know that! thanks for the info, I'll see if I can get in touch with them about that!

  • also i forgot, also if you have a problem with being in an all girls school, tell them that now, i didnt even think of that possibility, and now i've gotten used to it, but it's still a little disappointing. you just have to tell them before you get your visa, or your stuck, chances are they will use my school again to host students

  • Hii :D

sucks you can't go yet D:

I'm also going to Japan as an exchange student in 3 months.. I don't know where I'm going to stay yet.. I hope somewhere near Tokyo.

  • heya, good luck in Japan next year! Talk to me on aim or Skype etc if you have any questions (rickyruffle)! I'm going to make a video over Christmas for sure. But before going I was planing on making them very frequently, not once every 3 months. Just remember that while you're here you're going to be busy with schoolwork and when your not doing that, make the most of it. One major thing; don't stay too attached to people back home or else you'll miss out on all the new people you can meet here.

  • awesome! thanks a lot, I've traveled a lot so homesickness won't be a problem. I will definitely stay in touch because I have plenty of annoying little questions :) again - thank you!

  • You didn't say a specific time when you're leaving...Do you know when yet?

  • well... I won't be leaving until mid or late August I believe :) yea a long time to go, but I find out who my family is in January ( I hope) so that's the next "event" that is Japan involved. Can't wait!

  • Oh, I'll be sure to look for your channel again in August then :)

  • 面白い。がんばってください=]

  • ありがとう!

  • I cant wait to see your videos. I was thinking about doing an exchange program to japan, and id like to see what its like! Ill definitly watch all your videos and sub!

  • ha! thank you very much! I'll try my hardest to make them as interesting as possible!

  • How are you Austrian-American. Which of your parents are American and what country were you born in. Just asking. Im a Filipino-American born in the US

  • My mother is Austrian, and my father is American. I was born in America, but I visit Austria regularly - for winter and summer break usually.

  • Hi Kat,

don't die of excitment (did I spell that right) before you go. Just that you know, I will (ofcourse) watch ALL you video's. An I will probably subscribe, because I care about my dear cousin at the other side of the world. (or should I write: beloved, most handsome, incredible cousin, no I think dear is just right)

Jeees, one year away, but we already have a long-distance-relationship :P...

so: have fun, and see you soon

    You (also bilingual :P) cousin

    Clara

  • I can understand your excitement! I was doing the exact same thing a year ago, looking at other peoples blogs in japan, japanese blogs and whatever. Now I'm in Japan for a 1 year study abroad doing the same thing!

I've only been in Japan for 3 weeks, but you'd like to see what I've been up to, you are more than welcome to take a look at my channel!

Good luck! You're gonna love it here especially if you're going to be near Tokyo AND with a host family.
