  • FM Transmitter is not an app its a hardware built in inside Nokia N8 , dont waste ur time seraching to download it

  • N79, N97, N8 they have the feature.

  • Broadcast a Rickroll via FM yeah!

  • Can these be used on a normal hi-fi system in the home? Thanks

  • @Moshimoshimad it most definitely can :)

  • I don't have that option either. Nokia N8-00 ~ Symbian Anna.

    (Greece)

  • good video but horrible taste in music

  • U have a bad music taste, but u made a great video! Thanks

  • in some countries fm transmitters are not allowed to use... and not to sale... so if you don't have it in your phone its local for those countries

  • where is fm-transmitter?:(( can u help me to find him?)))

  • thank you man, really usefull video, now i'm more anxious to get mine

  • 12 MP WOOOOWW

  • "poke a face"xD hahaha

  • Hey ! Please say me where i can download that app! My n8 dont have that option :(

  • @martonefv it does have it, the FM Transmitter is a native app :) when you are already playing a song or playlist. click on options u will see "FM Transmitter"

  • @AutoTVmy Sorry bro. But i am from argentina. And here the nokia n8 s Dont come with that program ! :S. I try to donwload it but i cant find it.

  • @martonefv that would be very strange, I suggest you check at a Nokia Center. Cos the FM Transmitter is not so much an app, but a piece of HARDWARE that is build INTO your phone. Maybe just the icon is missing.

  • My n8 doesnt have this funciton... is it something u need to add onto the phone?

  • @marlenehoang Hi, since this is a key N8 feature, your N8 should have this function. Try looking for the FM Transmitter app, it is an app that is preinstalled in your phone. Hope that helps :)

  • good demonstration, thanks

  • Gonna get this phone but I had to stop the video when he said Nickleback...... Aaarggghhhh shitness

  • I might get this phone just for this sick feature!

  • Good video, very informative.

  • great speach ...

  • great speach ... but brush your teeth

  • u are cool...great review of this function :)

  • OK I just bought NOKIA n8 and I must say the FM transmitter is great for playing songs and watching movies in car... But there is one serious drawback. Why can't you hear GPS voice from Ovi maps on car speakers???!

We all know that music is for fun, but when you are nervously looking for a street all over the town there would be a great help if you can hear your instructions about the direction's loud and clear on car spekaers. I can't believe that NOKIA wasn't thinking about that. FAIL

  • you should really have a car charger connected with it while listening via the phone

  • how many K/bs sound will it transfer ? 120 ? even 320 ?

  • Comment removed

  • yeahhhhh same too u la beb...aku dah try dah mmng boleh thanks sbb wat demo

  • you from malaysia right

  • @2348rxz you too right? :P

  • hey great i dint knew it had a FM transmitter!!..thts GENIUS itself in a phone~!

  • Am aslo curious to know what will be the range/distance to transmit audio, can i use in my house from another/next room.

  • @deepak696 It's not very far. Best quality is only a few meters.

  • Can it also transmit sound/audio while playing a video file?

  • @deepak696 yup, it sure can :) One of our other videos demonstrates this. Check it out.

  • Loved the video! thanks! And hopefully with the new Symbian update the other aspects will be improved... such as the browser

  • the in car with the radio the your friend. you type rickroll on the raio your friend

  • 5:00 xD

  • i got an n86 1years old, with16GB sd card store almost 2000 songs~ 320kbps~ really clear in my Car with fm transmitter ~~ Nice~

  • @_@

Canggih bener....I Love my Nokia N8

  • no hands ... XD ...

  • Hope the N9 will have it too!

  • @AlucardXD Hmm, hope so. But somehow I doubt the N9 will have it :P

  • hey in my N8 there`s no FM transmitter in menu...application/tools/fm tr.....?

    help me pls...Made in finl...

  • @asefaskerov Another way to find the FM Transmitter is to go to your Music Player. Play a song, and under options of Now Playing, you'll find the FM Transmitter :)

  • helpful vid thanks to the uploader!! have u got anymore handy tip video's like this one, im jus gettin to know my n8 so wood be useful, thanks!

  • @1087toni we do have a few more N8 videos u can check out on our channel. But do feel free to ask if u have any question about the N8. Will be glad to help :)

  • @AutoTVmy

yea jus sin them lol the one about the in car entertainment was useful aswel gonna buy a car holder now, thanks again! have subscribed aswell now, if i get stuck i will def be asking u lol :D

  • na telefon go stać ale zębów chuj juz nie potrafi umyc

  • I just tried it on my car, the sound quality is just impeccable! Go Nokia!

  • co za debil :D

  • who is lady gaga? are you caca for gaga? I will call you mr. blah blah

  • for some reason my phone cant pick up the the signal that well i have to like stick it right next to the radio..... any ideas man ???????

  • @everthinghardcore Well it should. The range so far for decent sound is about a meter or two.

  • It's a nice feature to have but I find the audio quality to be poor. It's muffled and lacks clarity. Much better to use the 3.5mm jack than this for playing music if that's an option!

  • @Zlyzer Have to agree on that, but if your stereo is like mine... well this is the only choice :)

  • Can i ply it in my home radio?

  • @tellsy1997 definitely :)

  • we have the same name!

  • @DaveBeatz oh really... :) even the middle name? :)

  • hey anybody knows where can i install the fm transmitor in my n8.. its missing :(

  • Why does my phone not have the FM transmitter?? =[

  • @B1aze182 what phone are u using? :)

  • @AutoTVmy Nokia N8 =[ I have two, both of them I imported from HK

  • Whats coverage for transmitter?

  • @funnntasy Only a few meters at best. Great for use in the car but it doesn't go much further than that.

  • Hmm, So, it does have effect on Sound quality .. Well, better to use a Audio IN cable ;)

I can listen my songs from my N95 to my Home Stereo system.

  • @thecolspot Definitely can't deny that :)

  • cool vid mate!!!!!!!!!!

  • thanx for the vid. no one'll tell, u r tricking us dude.

  • to bad the nokia n8 cant change you accent so we could understand you better

  • i change a station to orda da fly lice an sum dim sun egg Lo

  • VERY OLD

  • great vid nice one didnt no you could do this

  • You can't buy some new FM transmitter for cars but you need to buy a new Nokia N8, it works on your car radios. It works also in 80s car radios and even your analog radio! xD

  • u got me tired, 8 min for such a silly presentation.

  • @bv66wuwusa shush your mush, bet you didnt no you could do this you prick or you would'nt have watched the full vid

  • @0151pri88 I don`t consider my self a geek, but I`m tellin` u this is a video 4 kids, I am a Nokia consumer since 10 years ago... And I know about this feature of the phone since Nokia relased the N96 just a month after I got an N95. And that was 3 years ago... I just said my opinion... I am free to say it. Good luck.

  • my n900 can do that too :)

  • @wankerka yes it can. great isn't it :)

  • great vid man

  • 680 MHz Arm 11 processor, not bad... Does it play Flash video natively or through that ugly realplayer?

  • @PhantomAct Hi there, the N8 does play live natively. It's Flash Lite 4.0 enabled :)

  • Can you use it to annoy the neighbors?

  • @PhantomAct Well as the broadcast range is probably only a meter or so... you'll have to literally camp outside our neigbours door for it to have any effect :P

  • @PhantomAct Yes but the transmitting range is only two meters, and your neighbours would have to be on the same frequency, that you are transmitting on.

  • Hi guys, if you are in Malaysia, the Nokia N8 price has been revealed to be RM1690! :)

  • \m/ Yeh!! nickelback ..

  • can you also change the songs in the car-radio (next / back) that are in the n8

not that I always have to use the mobile to change the song ?

  • @HiPpOLooo unfortunately, you cannot. It is like streaming via bluetooth. the Radio/Bluetooth device is only receiving, the controls will still have to be operated on the mobile phone itself.

  • Can you use the FM transmitter in maps, so you get voice directions through your car stereo speakers?

  • @1971ELLIOTT i wonder if that's possible as well eha hah XD

  • @1971ELLIOTT Hi Elliot, interesting question. I didn't try that out. Perhaps I will then I'll reply here :)

  • @1971ELLIOTT Hi again Eliott, I tried what u suggested. Unfortunately, when u load up Ovi Maps, the FM Transmitter shuts off. So I guess u can't use it to broadcast the voice directions.

  • Hey dude. 530USD in Thailand

  • wow!! i want to have it

  • can u tell me the price of the phond .

    i wanna the phond

    i m also live at Malaysia , p.penang .

  • @kirasasuke87 It's not officially out yet. So you can't buy it right now... but you'll be able to VERY soon :)

As for price... all I can say is that you'll be sweetly surprised :)

  • @kirasasuke87 It's launching in Malaysia today!!! the 13th of October. I always knew 13 was a good date. hhaha

  • Hey dude. You got your N8 in Malaysia? How much is it? I am also a Malaysian.

  • @bongky18 It's going to be launched soon, so until then there is no confirmed price and you can't buy it until the launch date. Not much longer to wait, so don't worry :)

  • @bongky18 FYI, the Nokia N8 launches in Malaysia today!

  • is the n79 having a lousier sound than n85 when it plays wit fm trans .

  • @GlobalDVC Hmm, what u propose is interesting. But despite how 'clear' the N8 FM transmitter may sound in my video, it really isn't good when u move more than a few feet away or if u are somewhere open air with lots of interference. My suggestion is to use a cordless mic that is bluetooth enabled. You can get a bluetooth mic + receiver that u can jack into a recorder, so u can walk around with the Mic and leave the receiver jacked into the recorder, very good quality. But slightly shorter range.

  • Thanks good demo Will it be poss. to use this N8 FM transmitter for wireless built in microphone? On photokina I got some nice lenses for people who like to make macroshots. Also seen wide angle lenses. But most of all waiting now for a good system to get a close-up lens to get N8 in focus within a meter! Or you know some? Videomode does not autofocus close-ups big pitty now with N8 but to be solved with new gadgets or apps? See my reviews with Nokia N8 at CameraEducator.BlogSpot.Com

  • thanx for the video dude...

  • We dont believe you haha

  • @Kajover bah... sure u do :P

  • is it possible to make phone calls and/or voice navigation through this FM transmitter?

  • @feeltch For voice navigation, Nokia already has a pretty good (and free) voice navigation in Ovi Maps. U should give that a try, its a free software anyway. I do not believe u can make effective phone calls with the FM Transmitter either, because it only broadcasts, it cannot receive. Unless its a one sided phone call? :P

  • @AutoTVmy silly me :P Didn't think of it's only one sided comunication. Thanks for tip.

  • it's not a new feature in Nokia phone and you don't need proof for FM Transmitter pal!

  • thanks for the video man!

  • @Moving4Motion thanks a lot. planning on an N8?

  • @AutoTVmy yeah I think so, this or the E7 anyway. It's so hard to choose a new phone these days. I like Android but the battery life of every new Android phone is appalling, and I love Nokia anyway.

  • The FM transmitter is a good idea but only in theory. In practical application it sounds bad ...poor quality unlike source uncompressed cd audio source or compressed WIFI or uncompressed mp3 source. No matter how good RF FM transmitter is, it will not satisfy audiophiles or any one who hears the poor quality sound. For most people they won't like the FM transmitter. It won't better Line In or AUx inputs no matter what anyone says, the quality isn't upto it.

  • @LoveJesusLoveJehovah I completely agree. But when there is no other choice, barring changing my head unit which has no audio input options, this will have to do for me. :)

  • Damn, Iphone doesn't have that?...lol.... don't need to buy the hardware anymore, this is how this big companies make their money... there are so many things that an HTC, iphone, Samsung phones can't do and then you have Nokia with all these features and with Meego coming up, the sky is the limit.

  • does not the nokia N8 cost money?

  • @pkoicetr Of course it does, but I reckon if u are going to buy a phone anyway, u might as well buy one that does everything.

  • does FM-transmitter works with Spotify? or any other 3rd party software/music player?

  • @zzzzrb Hmm, unfortunately I didn't test that out. Anyone here have used a 3rd party software with the FM Transmitter of maybe a N97 or N900? Please share with us if it works.

  • @zzzzrb I've got N97 whit spotify, and it's best thing in history! FM-transmitter+Car+Spotify = <3

  • @zzzzrb It will transmit any sound from any application from your phone.

  • @Amoshydra besides calling..

  • Nice Video bro! really helped a lot! no need for a car Aux port :D

  • had this feature on n85 ,love it ! then n86 and now for n8 !

    ftw!

  • @vastenmielinen and for n97

  • @urpis99 the Dolby Digital audio only through the HDMI connection.

  • u miss out the MOST IMPORTANT part, are the N8 FM transmitting in STEREO or MONO???

  • @sklchan Dolby digital..

  • @urpis99 Dolby Digital audio only through the HDMI connection.

  • @sklchan No where does it say if its stereo or mono, but I think it won't make sense for Nokia to use processing power to convert an stereo music file into mono before broadcasting but your guess is as good as mine since its not officially stated anywhere on paper.

  • @AutoTVmy got info from others user for other nokia models, the N97 and N900 have stereo transmittion, so the N8 should be stereo as the hardware profile is about match the N97

  • @sklchan Hmm that's interesting info. Thanks a lot for sharing that with us :)

  • does this have the final software ? because this looks a lot smoother

  • @obizz1234 Yes it does! :) This is what consumers would be buying. It's not a prototype.

  • @AutoTVmy ok thanks :D

  • watch one is better NOKIA N8 OR SONY ERICSSON SATIO?

  • @suspectajt in terms of itnerface, the N8 is definitely more fluid as compared to the Satio. But I only used the Satio briefly, so I'm not 100% sure about the difference of camera quality. But I would think that the N8 is 'probably' better? The N8 doesn't have a video light though, the Satio does.

  • @AutoTVmy thanks for replying...

  • @AutoTVmy N8

  • thanks for posting this video and also thank you for your reply on my comment.

can't wait to get one as soon as it's release!! BTW im malaysian too, cool man.

  • @fifileng No prob man, glad you liked it :)

  • @AutoTVmy Hey! forgot to let u knw that i'd already got N8 last october. worth the wait.

  • from where did you buy the phone??

  • where you got it ?

why are you making review in a car?

    did you steal it ?

  • @armidons god u sound like a dumb ass

  • @nikesb0988

    suc kit !

  • looks like you are talking from malaysia, i relally want to get one because of its appearance n other functions. where to buy in malaysia, want to get one for raya, dah jual belum kat market... actually fm transmitter is common for all N series

    thanks for your sharing

  • @neomarinengineer It is not yet available for consumer purchase in Malaysia. But will be soon :)

  • The greatest phone ever!! Good night iphone.

  • waiting to buythis in australia...............been told october 2010.......awesome phone

  • How much does it cost in US dollar? I wanna buy that one. but i guess it's not out in the market yet here in the philippines..

  • @lip20s Can't say for sure what the price is. But I'm sure you can guess how much smart phones normally cost... :P But snce Symbian ^3 is open source, who knows... maybe it would cost less from the OS side..

  • @lip20s Pre order price was 550$ store price probable will be around 400$.

  • "You could change the head unit.... to something which has a USB port, but that will cost you money." So would buying the phone. Infact, it will probably cost more to buy than most radios which have USB ports fitted!!

  • Hi, good review from you. Any idea about the launching date in Malaysia? Do you think the Symbian^3 is a bit sluggish and how about the loud speaker? Is it louder enough? Thx

  • @ngoi5317 Hi, thanks for the support. As for the launch date, I hear that it's in a matter of weeks. As for Symbian^3 it's really good. Very fast and smooth, no complaints at all. The loud speaker is ok too, except that it is behind the phone and not in front.

  • You neglected that Nokia N900 also have a FM transmitter feature.

  • Hi everyone, I thought I'd put up this list of Nokia phones that also have the FM Transmitter feature; since almost everyone thinks that this is a feature found in only the N97. If you are really looking for a phone with an FM Transmitter you can even try the N86, N85 and even the super old N78. Lots of choices but of course the N8 is cool in a lot more ways too :)

Check out my blog post for an even more complete list.
