Greco-Buddhism, sometimes spelt Graeco-Buddhism, refers to the cultural syncretism between Hellenistic culture and Buddhism, which developed between the 4th century BCE and the 5th century CE
The new syncretic form of Buddhism expanded fully into Eastern Asia soon after these events. The Kushan monk Lokaksema visited the Han Chinese court at Loyang in 178 CE, and worked there for ten years to make the first known translations of Mahayana texts into Chinese. The new faith later spread into Korea and Japan, and was itself at the origin of Zen
Lagdow, all religions that we know of are human made. Until we come across other species and learn their language, we won't know about a non-human religion. Religions with supernatural symbolic beings such as gods and angels are still human made religions because they only arise from human imagination.
Day1800, thanks for your respectful atitude, however, please understand that the formalities of Asian cultures do not necessarily translate. In Catholic religion the Church usually demands that the priests be called "Father" but in many Protestant Christian sects there is no demand that the minister be called "Reverend." So using first names is not usually a sign of disrespct. As Buddhism travels into the West it is taking many forms leaving some forms behind.
I agree with donkeyofheaven, but even if we were to do as you say none of the names you mention would be an option as they come from the theravada tradition and this is a zen teacher, roshi, sensei and sunim come to mind if we were to say so... but forget all this, dont be attached to words! =P

I prefer the word Ajhan Brian or Venerable Brian or Bhanthe Brian.--cuervo

Whatever gives you comfort.
Big bonus: I have already reserved "Venerable" for myself. so your choice has thus become simpler.

Nobody asked about Greco-Buddhism, you fruit. Why are you posting the same useless nonsense on every video related to Buddhism?
