Eating dog meat should be separated from the issue of cruelty. Cruelty to all animals not just dogs must be avoided.
But a dog raised and slaughtered in the same manner that cows and pigs are slaughtered doesn't present any issue.
If we can raise pigs and cows for slaughter why can't some people raise dogs for food in their own country. Cows and pigs may not be as emotional as dogs but they are animals who care for their youngs and can associate with humans if given the chance.
