  • Problem was the poor guy's colon wasn't working and he was so blotted and jammed full and it was literally bloating him everywhere else with water weight and more. And his doctor didn't note it.The Pain Killer Prescriptions just made the situation worse and cause his system to literally shut down till he poisoned his body and died. It can happen. Look how grossly distorted his silohette is.His body shut down in its ability to cleanse itself And No one was strong enough to say "Something is wrong"

  • well his voice was exceptional...He entertained the audience....they loved him.

  • he was really in rapid city?? ha

  • beautiful!

  • unreal

  • If you love me LET me know

  • Elvis gave it his all right up to end god bless all the Elvis fans around the world

  • What's really sad is, yeah Elvis is fat here, but he looks slimmer than most people I see walking around nowadays.

  • i typed in FAT ELVIS to find this video

  • @no1diamondgeezer me too!

  • god damn he got fat near the end, still great though

  • this song says alot about love and heart ache

  • Being an Elvis fan from a little boy one of the songs I loved was "If you love me let me know" I sang this song with a backtrack in our Church Camp on 4 Sept 2011 and the audience went crazy it was as if Elvis was beside me urging me on. No one can take the place of Elvis and because he loved Jesus. He enjoyed so much fame and fortune. Alec Subrayan email alecsubrayan@telkomsa.net

  • FANTASTIC!!

    Geert Dehoux, 'classical' pianist.

  • The "King" should not have been doing covers of Olivia Newton John songs in 1977. Ah well....you can't change history.

  • @MrMazins1 Why not???? He was still awesome!

  • @MrMazins1 well, maybe you forget SHE was the queen at the time

  • I have been a diehard fan of Elvis since 1956. It does not matter what he sings...could do the telephone book. He was the whole package. His voice....his feeling for the music...and of course was the best looking man one could ever imagine.

I have only recently allowed myself to watch his latest performances...and I am impressed. He still had a sense of humour and gave his all. And who else would still be around 34 years after? It is a challenge...anyone?

  • Leave it up to Elvis Presley to cover ANY song and make it sound 100 times better than the original artist. Eternity isn't long enough for a human being to ever surpass the King in voice talent, charisma, showmanship, etc. And to address his so-called bloating...I read somewhere that Presley was taking some kind of steroid...something like Prednisone or a steroid like it for pain. If anybody remembers Jerry Lewis becoming bloated and fat-looking a few years ago, he was on a steroid as well.

  • I LOVE YOU ELVIS!!!!!!!

  • awesome song move over girl he sings it better than u...

  • Elvis sounded great...the album of this final concert is my favourtie Elvis one...but watching him is painful. He looks awful. 6 weeks from death.

  • As pointed out, regardless, of how he looked and toned down his show a bit , Elvis was a great entertainer. And he still looks 90% better, in this video, than most people do, on a good day ! And of note: Elvis, was more so "bloated" from his colon problems and Medications, than Fat. Water retension will make one look swollen.

  • Do we have to call him "Elvis the Pelvis" ? Sadly in1977, Elvis, was in bad health, and he should have taken some time off to get himself in better shape, but, he didn't and contiued to tour, to pay the bills and keep the people around him working, and of course, give the fans some excitement and enjoyment. The man always worked hard to make people happy.. And if you think he didn't work hard, look at his body of work, in his "short 23 years" of being an entertainer. (1954-1977). Its amazing !

  • @GKRENKEL Well we do not have to call him that. That is so outdated. From the fifties. I was there and he was also called a "flash in the pan". Wow...were they wrong whoever they were. And 34 years after the death of Elvis.....His talent is still appreciated. Do check out some super ETAs. Pete Storm..Cody Slaughter and Mark Andrew. Never saw Elvis live. But the illusion is the next best thing. These guys are amazing. Yes to all ETAs.

  • The King made it look so easy.

  • Would have been better (more enjoyable) if the timecode on the bottom of the screen would had been taken off but understand that it must have been the settings on the equipment used to make this dub of the original footage. Despite this, it is a great clip of The King!

  • The original moonwalker!!!

  • Elvis is wearing a chai!

  • to the man saying he was a studio preformer if thats the case why was he baned in the 50s for shaking his hips he loved sing live that was his thing then came everything ealse recing ect the best ever no elvis no mtv no enm like the man said before elvis theie was nothing

  • so very sad, but with an amzing voice even in his worst moments, where were all the angers on to help him to get out of this turmoil? one has to wonder

  • even at this time in his life he was still the best no matter what anyone else says!!

  • No other like this man ever...

  • As ill as he was, and despite the physical and emotional pain he was under near the end, Elvis still went out and gave his best to please his fans, He wanted to reach out to everybody. The pressures of fame and superstardom was just too much.

  • Elvis never lost his magic and he never will.

  • Second to None!!

  • He died later the same year as this concert on August 16, 1977.

Compare this video to the Madison Square Garden Concert in NYC in 1972.

MSG in NYC was his peak.

  • @supertruckertom There is no COMPARING the two. elvis was in bad shape by this video. Elvis still gave his all. ELVIS man, myth, LEGEND. GOD bless.

  • @supertruckertom He was so terrific ... I love how elvis just strolls across the stage... Hes like fire. No other like .

  • not so good live he was really a studio performer and in later years PJ Proby did his stsudio work for him Elvis was too drugged u p to perform. Also noticeable in tis video too

  • Fat elvis was the best.. his rich was deeper and richer!

  • I youtubed "Fat Evlis" and was directed to this video.

  • everyone freeze the video at 1.30 ha ha, look at the way he lookin at the band..they always had this special interne sense of humor and games with eachother. cool

  • sad to see the king like this. must have been one of his last shows.

    brilliant voice to the end.

i doubt there will ever be a better artist. thats why we call him the king, i guess.

  • man he fucked himself up pretty bad sorry to say!

  • @bob701z yep, he ate too much fat food :(

  • @bob701z he's mother died and food is always there for you in good and bad situations so yea he did

  • We don't care WHAT Elvis looked like at the end, he still was the best. His voice was brilliant until the very end. Most people could only hope to be as handsome as Elvis is in this video!

  • it's good to be king

  • America's had 44 presidents, but only one king. Thanks for posting.

  • This song and Let Me Be There were both written by John Rostill of UK instrumental group The Shadows.

Sadly John did not live to see the success of these songs performed by ONJ and EP as he was killed by electrocution in his home studio in 1973.

    RIP John And Elvis

  • ELVIS THE PELVIS?!?!?!?

  • god i miss elvis. i hope he's in a good place because he gave a lot of pleasure to a lot of people. he came along when we needed our own music and he carried rock and roll on his shoulders til we were smart enough to accept black man's as our own. that's why he's the king.

  • greedy pig!!!!!!!!!!!! not elvis but the people who made him look like a pig..E:VISS IS GOD??

  • Love you always Elvis xx

  • Elvis, always the King.

  • To all those people who come on here just to say nasty things about Elvis: If you don't like Elvis then don't click on an Elvis Youtube video. Everyone is entitled to like whoever they want to, but to click on a video just to make stupid comments is ridiculous. So all those people who just come on here to make rubbish comments, grow up and get a brain.

  • Elvis is the one and only king of music. Elvis is the greatest entertainer that ever lived and he will be remembered forever.

  • For the 42 years you spent on this Earth, you were truly god`s gift to us,right to the end,you still had that magnificient voice of yours. may your soul rest in peace Elvis, there can be many contenders to the crowd, but only one King. Love you forever Elvis.

  • such a fat sweaty mess... I woulda off'd myself too, he is so high during this whole song I can't stand to watch this...

  • @lyndonno

Yeah sure. I'd like to hear you sing half as good as Elvis.

    Ignoramus.

  • @margondine no your a ignoramus....... and other made up words

  • @lyndonno

Actually 'ignoramus' is not a made up word, which just proves my point.

    Thank you.

  • @margondine nope its not a word. its a combination of IGNORing A MUStache ..... and if there is one thing life has taught me its never ignore a mustache .... hhhhhmmm surprised you didn't know that. poop face

  • Thank you, Elvis, for sharing your amazing talent with the world, then, now and forever. Hope you are in a happy place now.

  • is this eminem dressed as elvis?

  • Elvis died a fat man - The Burger King!

  • @MyMerlin1 The King died upon his "throne".

  • @MyMerlin1 I wonder how YOUR last day looks like.

  • damn he rele did let himself go :/

  • thats what i told my so calld wife

  • here i gotta tell you - you know it seems like Elvis is resentful 'n stuff on stage, about politics, not going his way. Everyone suffers their own political anguish. He should just like swallow a chill pill, and then like exercise 'n stuff, and find at least some small social outlet, that doesn't require him performing on stage. Like if one of my screen plays comes out, he could go to the movies. Heaven is a special place and he's probably resting fully, hopefully, in entirety, 'n stuff.

  • for the one saying that im full of shit check this out dude

    wikipedia . org/wiki/Elvis_Presley#Health_deterioration_and_death_.281973.E2.80.9377.29

  • ive always loved this song!...a couple of others that he does are awesome also, such as 'snowbird'..which i think was recorded by anne murray..and another one that really touches you if you listen to the words and can relate to what he is singing about, is 'early morning rain'!...he's the 'KING'...plain and simple!

  • This must be one of his last concerts, God love him, he was still the best.

    The greatest performer ever.

  • THE King!!!! his magic smile still alive!

  • Please dont call him pelvis , its disrespectful to the greatest vocalist that ever lived !!!

He started it all , look there have been some great singers too but he still reighns supreme the king always has been and always will be !!!!

  • He appears to be sweating cheeseburgers.

  • brilliant as usuall

  • great show ive got the whole show on dvd

after 30 years still the king.

  • @burger69100 was this in Rapid City, SD? Do you know the year?

  • @rickfakkitup It was 1977 but dont remember the month. It was one of his last concerts towards the end of his love.

  • @rickfakkitup June 21 1977 rapid city,SD

  • amazing so cool

  • Were you really at his concert?

  • King!!!

  • Comment removed

  • ilyet még nem láttam fantasztikus zene és a felépés.

  • Wow,fantastic,what a man,what a voice.TCB 4 EVER.

  • I did not know his last concert was not professionally recorded. Interesting! All these years and I'm thinking this is his last performance. Did he wear the same jumpsuit for his last concert?

  • @luvmetendr

Yepp, he also wore the Sundial suit - the one he wears here, in his final concert, in Indianapolis, IN on June 26, 1977

  • Somebody call an ambulance, cuz I think I'm dead.

  • Thank u thank u very much

  • Rapid City? I'm almost certain this is Indianapolis! Elvis' final concert.

  • @luvmetendr - His last show was not professionally recorded. CBS recorded Omaha and Rapid City. This is Rapid City.

  • my son was born in 1997, twenty years after the death of Elvis - there are pictures and memorabelia in my boy's room of Elvis - I introduced him to the movie 'Elvis: That's The Way It Is' five years ago and he's been hooked on the king ever since - just making a statement here and it's not right or wrong but, think of this . . my son knew of Elvis before George Washington to George Bush - the man IS America . . . long live "The King" !!

  • Poor guy...that's a far cry from the Aloha Special, when he was at his peak.

  • Why was the "King Of Rock And Roll" doing middle of the road ditties like this? Sad.

  • @Bolgi - I like the way he did "Let Me Be There" - can't remember what album that's from. Most of the time when he did a cover tune, he did it very well, and added his own stamp. "You Gave Me A Mountain" was an awesome performance, his live band and background singers were also the best in the business, then. Whitney's Mom singing behind him..

  • @Alvin4NY His live band was fantastic. I wouldn't say that they were the "best" in the business but they were up there. Cissy Houston only backed him up during the August 1969 Vegas season and then left.

  • You will never see this special officially released while Lisa Marie is alive, period!

  • Can anyone take a copy of Olivia singing this and join it with Elvis like they did with some of the country stars singing with him? Oh, man, would that be fantastic! I've never heard him doing this and it's absolutely fantastic!

  • Elvis should have been in a rehablilitation center for his health , what ever problems the man had , he had given enough of himself to the world to last generations. Elvis with a clearer head should have straightened out for the daughter he left behind ,. The whole story breaks my heart. RIP Elvis We miss you so much...

  • @Jesse45408 ... you sucks....never ever call Elvis "pelvis" ! Or did you really thought anytime that you are better then this great man ever was ?

  • i this song

  • Given these circumstances, one has to wonder if the CBS special was just a way to get some quick cash for both Elvis and the Colonel. Also, does anyone really believe that Elvis' career could have survived had this footage aired while he was alive, as was the original intent?

  • We do know this; in late spring '77 both Elvis and the Colonel were in desperate need of cash. It was later revealed that Elvis had to take out a second mortgage on Graceland within the last two years of his life just to cover living expenses because illness and drug addiction caused him to cancel several shows and engagements during that period. As for the Colonel, he had mounting gambling debts that put not only him but also Elvis in a bad bargaining position.

  • @vidnut67 you are full of shit.

  • @supercardforyou Explain what you mean by your disagreement without having to resort to vulgarity and insults. I happen to be as big an Elvis fan as anyone and do not know from where you are coming. I meant simply by my remarks that Elvis was taken advantage of by the Colonel, particularly in the last years, and every biographer who has written objectively will agree with what I'm saying.

  • I have mixed feelings about the commercial release of the 1977 CBS special. I don't see where it would hurt his image at this point. Footage and outtakes from this special are all over YouTube, so the horse is out of the barn on this one. However, looking back at when the deal was actually made in late-spring '77, one wonders whether it really Elvis who wanted to be back on TV or if it was yet another example of Colonel Parker taking advantage of his only client in his sad final years.

  • @vidnut67 Horse out of the barn? the man has bee dead for nearly 33 years and in that time has been accused of just about everything except killing Michael Jackson. His incredible talent was always far more important than the image, if people want the discs of the three concerts used to make the television special they are not difficult to get, I bought them years ago. Commercial release of the show would make no difference,

  • @hirdy6 Exactly my point. What I meant by "horse out of the barn" is that the estate is absolutely silly to refuse to release this at this point; it would make no difference now. It would have made a difference, however, had he been alive when it was broadcast because the full extent of his problem was not known until well after he died, and people were far less accepting of people with a drug habit back then.

  • @hirdy6 In my opinion the real reason the estate is sitting on this special is because if it were released, it would put the focus on Presley's final years to the point that certain people affiliated with the estate would have to answer why more wasn't done to stop Elvis from destroying himself.

  • @vidnut67 I think elvis wanted to be back on tv, he even wrote the colonel a letter saying he was really looking for it and that he would do his best on the shows, and thats what he did his best! His voice was magnicificent on the special only wished they had included its now or never this one and the full are you lonesome tonight (instead of cutting into it with fans comments)

  • @ELVISDINNERSHOW2011 Yes, Elvis did well considering how sick he was at the time, but in no way can this be favorably compared with even the "Aloha" show, and he wasn't even up to par then. Maybe he did want to be back on TV, but according to the Jerry Hopkins book "Elvis: The Final Years", Presley, who initially seemed excited about being back on the air, appeared to have second thoughts as his limousine neared the arena at Omaha, Nebraska, on June 19, 1977.

  • @ELVISDINNERSHOW2011 According to the book, Elvis was heard to say as he sat in the back of the limo, "How do I get put in such positions? Ah hell, I guess it's show business." He then proceeded to put on one of his worst shows ever. Look at the clips of the Omaha concert; he can barely walk, much less sing. If he indeed wanted to be back on TV at that time, then that is clear evidence that he was in total denial concerning the damage he was doing to himself and his career.

  • @ELVISDINNERSHOW2011 I agree with the late Lamar Fike, Elvis' old high school friend and longtime security chief for the concert tours; Elvis needed to shut it down for a while and rest. The problem is that, if all the reports are to be believed, Elvis was nearing bankruptcy and had no other means of income other than the tours to stay afloat.

  • @vidnut67 Could be but i don't trust those guys, alot of his friends werent his friends and betrayed him with elvis what happend

  • @ELVISDINNERSHOW2011 I agree that there were those in his inner circle who were there just for the check. But it all comes down to personal responsibility, a phrase that offends some people because they don't want to face the truth about themselves. Sadly, as great an entertainer and singer as he was, Elvis in the end betrayed himself. Maybe he was tired and overworked, but why he didn't stand up to the Colonel is a mystery to me and many others.

  • He appears tired, but even tired he IS still the best.

  • awesome!

  • Who cears how fat he was, whats the point in taking this up Fr3eStyle2?

  • the fat elvis is fatter than i remember when was this

  • @Fr3eStyle2

Who cears how fat he was, whats the point in taking this up Fr3eStyle2?

  • @kennyelvis100 i was just trying to say that elvis had seen better days performance wise lol

  • @Fr3eStyle2 you should be more respectful. The media and comedians have been using Elvis to keep themselves in jobs like the parasites they are. The truth is Elvis was a tough man and would not tell anyone that he was severely depressed. He said he would rather feel nothng at all, then feel what he was feeling then.

  • @Fr3eStyle2 He was lonely and basically in a prison, as his manager was a criminal who was in with the mafia that used Elvis' family as threat bait. Elvis gained weight but he wasn't as fat as idiots were saying.

  • Good god J.D. Sumner could sure troll those bottom notes.Yet another fantastic performance by the King and the T.C.B. band!!!

  • buvcatdo I think the older Elvis became the better his voice was. No body will ever sing better than him. His voice was just beautiful. He was such a humble, loving giving man. He alway's put every one else first before him.

  • When was this? I never knew Elvis was in Rapid City, South Dakota. I was in RC twice (in 1986 and 1992) and loved every minute of it. Beautiful city!!

  • King!

  • breaks me up to see one of the best looking guys in the world of music hurt is body so, why did no one speak the truth and help him ,but they coudnt destroy his voice

  • @bobvocal they did try to help him, two of his body guards wrote a book about his drug addiction and they tried to get him off the drugs, but elvis never liked it so he fired them.

  • Thank you for posting this. My Uncle gave me a dvd with three concerts on it including his cbs special. I love all the concerts. What you can see is that Elvis continued to perform despite being ill. I read that Elvis took taking care of his people seriously and he perfomed no matter what. There are many moments of brilliance on the three hour DVD. I am glad there is a Youtube so that many of the clips are shared. This is not illegal as CBS aired the special in 1977. Long live Elvis' music.

  • from what I've read, the estate only wants to preserve and market Elvis' image from 56-73 because those were his better years. Therefore, the estate has no intentions of ever releasing this concert. If they did, it would definitely sell. True, this concert is no ''ALOHA'', but it's still a pretty good show. In my opinion, I think the fans should decide what is appropriate.

  • @msmithstud I have a dvd of the 1976 New Year's Eve concert and his last ever concert from Indianapolis on 6/26/77. Both are incredible performances!

It's a shame that Elvis has turned into a "CORPORATION'! EPE is so afraid the period from 1974-1977 will somehow tarnish the image of Elvis and profits will somehow fall!? People are well aware of what happened at the very end..this 2010, people's ideals have changed since 1977!

  • @msmithstud Therefore, this proves that EPE is in it for the money, not the image! Again, typical Corporate greed! I wonder what Elvis would have thought of all this?

  • Comment removed

  • lol hes still kickin

  • why no dvd for this concert.....i can not understand......even elvis is weak....but the fun of elvis they love it....

  • @har1977oun

shut up .you little dick head...you have too much to talk..yet are an substandtard imbecile....that can do bettter

  • This song was recorded by RCA during this time. Joe Gallio a RCA exec. wanted to release it on a 45 rpm record. 200 copies were made and distributed to other RCA exec's in the hopes they would agree. Sadly, the song was never released to the public making this 45 a very collectable record..

  • Thankyou Jesse45408, and thankyou King of Music.

  • Elvis is right to sing this song, if you love me Let me know & if you don't move it or take the door, wonderful word music fantastic thanks again keep a good job or for posting,

  • ELVIS IS THE TRUE KING AND THE BEST

  • so what ?

  • so what? are you 4 real?

  • idiot

  • this concert was released, before he passed, but it did'nt matter we all loved the guy no matter what, & no one to this day could put it down like E-P

  • I don't understand why EPE is so reluctant to release this concert on DVD/Blu-ray. The true, loyal Elvis fans aren't bothered by his appearance! These later years should not be forgotten! What, more money is made from the "thin" Elvis??!!

  • @gowestward1 I agree. This concert would definitely sell if it were released. From what I read, the estate wants to preserve and market Elvis' image from 56-73 because those were his better years. Personally, I think they ought to let the fans decide what will sell. True, this concert is definitely no ''ALOHA'' but it's still a pretty good show in my opinion.

  • Love this song!!!!!

  • I am 44 and an Elvis fan since i was 6. Elvis is the greatest entertainer that ever lived. Elvis the king forever.

  • i love you elvis!

  • king forever!!

  • Even thought he was ill he gave his all right to the end. God Bless you angel.

  • "i can`t here ya"

  • @bishopaz

    HEAR

  • LOL,right!
