And if it was up to the world bank, all of that water would be privatized as one requirement to getting one of their loans. Also Genetically Modified monsanto crops are being pushed by the World Bank and many other horrible things.
How can they even be so two-faced to make a movie like this! The world bank is part of the problem!

I would certainly be willing to scale back on luxury items. I noticed that many store bought items have large amounts of packaging, due to importing conditions. I would say 90% of our products are from china, unfortunatly most of it is crap, but everybody buys it cause it cheaper than domestic products. This causes a lot of polution to carry most of our goods all ther way from the other side of the world.
@patolefe You should really take some english lessons before replying again. I never said they where stupid. If you have nothing constructive to say better say nothing.

It's all very sad. I have a scientific question though (I'm not being cynical): how is it that with faster glacier melting there is water shortage? There should be an abundance of water!
The most of rain comes as water and runs away imediately, not snow wich gives water to the valleys also in hot and dry periods - this is resulting drought.
A sad story, but just another example of the many dramatic consequences of climate change World wide. Last year a went to the german Alps, where i expected to see a glacier, when we got there there was no ice left... And this was in March, not even in the summer!!
i think they should try to give all water that comes from the glaciers to african ppl and dont care about the money cost on driving all water to africa , just so all people can be happy, like take all biggest boats and drive water to there
its because the planet is due by 2012...thats the cause of all the big storms and its only going to get worse as we get closer...all the top world gov know about it aproching and thats why were already in a economic crisis today.. they are planning for the big day that will wipe out most of humanity around the world..about 85% will die...and the world is already starting to see effects...planet nibiru...not the end or the world just a new begining
@steviesmooth nbody knows if the world is due by 2012 only god knows if he wants he'll finish w this wolrd in 20 50 90 100 years or in months nobody knows
Sad story... :( But am I wrong if I think that mountain ice comes from snow which rains down? If Earth is heating up, it means more vaporation to atmosphere and more rain fall.
If Andies are suffering disappearing snow, it means that there is less rain?
It's true that a warming planet means more evaporation which in turn points to more rainfall - only problem is that the majority of this rain will fall on the oceans and what does fall on land will fall in greater amounts but less frequently, resulting in more erosion and run-off which in turn leads to soil degradation. There are solutions however! Plant more trees! Whereever you can, however many you can!! - and if they happen to be fruit- (or nut-) -bearing trees, then all the better!
Ok there are lots of comments that say that these people are living in the Stone Age. But, they're only living with lots of problems because they're very poor. So these people need all our help to survive.
@mariormcc all of those ppl saying that its bcuz they are stupids they have nothing good nor interesting to say they should do or at least say something good not leave stupid and sarcastic comments
George Bush takes taxpayer money and sends it to Africa to stop Aids, yet he has said that Aids is a behavioral disease, like people smoking. I am tired of my country sending stupid people money that belongs to me and expecting it to help stop the suffering, when suffering is a natural phenomena like a melting glacier. To try to impose our morality on the natural process is preposterous. Then when we do try to help, the stupid people try to blame us for the problem.
If the glacier is disappearing, then dig a well or move to an area where there is water. It is sort of stupid to live where there is no place to grow food, but yet to still multiply like in Africa is irresponsible. Africans make babies and then starve cause they are too stupid to grow food, so our stupid politicians use other peoples money and give it to thses stupid people who spend it on big screen tv's.
Loans are granted to Pakistan but are not monitored/audited to see the completion of the project they are sanctioned for. Pakistani ruling class & govt departments gradually eat up the entire loan. Are these loans granted to promote hypocrisy, gradually leading to fake inflation, injustice & poverty? The end result nowadays is reaction in the form of suicide bombing & destruction due to the problems mentioned. Kalabagh Dam & many projects are just a dream due to this attitude of IMF & World Bank

You must think mankind is smarter then mother earth. Your people cannot even dig a well, so how are you going to save anything? Besudes, mother earth does not need saving, but you do.
Don't you worry... your country is feeling the effects of global warming as well... and it's going to be a better place with less people like you! cheers!

Yes. 98 percent of the world's glaciers are retreating. That's global warming, and it's accelerating. It's horrific really: (
