I threw away a 50 dollar winner but I copied it playing with the copier and someone else pointed it out to me I did get it out of the trash also my fiance brother pulled one of his friends old tickets out of the trash and it was a 5000 winner he gave it back to his friend his friend gave him 300 what a joke right I think when u excpect to lose that's what u see

i agree, and with that said, she didnt deserve to endure false hopes. maybe shes in debt dude, that would of hurt her bad or something. I wouldnt even play a joke like that on a person without giving them at least like 5 bucks for the good laugh.  ya know?

I have my own take on this. She knew it was a winner but did't want to tell you incase you wanted it back so she threw it in the trash and was gonna get it out later.

then you come along and take it out of the trash and you don't tell her its a winner, infact you don't say anything. now she thinks your very sly

in a way she was sly and she thinks your sly aswell.

To really pull off the trick you have to give them more than just 1 ticket - I gave my friend 4 others and just mixed in the trick ticket

I owned a convenience store for 18 years and we always had 2nd chance drawings and it was amazing how many people threw winning tickets into the 2nd chance drawing box. The largest amount I found was only $100 but an unbelievable amount of small winners.

I think people see what they see due to their expectations of the situation. People can easily overlook winnings. In a 13 month period between Jul. 00 - Aug. 01.. the Texas lottery found $29 Million in unclaimed prize money from scratch-offs and other lotto games.

Your mind can easily overlook these details or fool you by perceiving the wrong information. I can only imagine that the unclaimed prize amount is over $200 Million by this time.

Intriguing... perhaps she may have read the disclaimer on the back of the ticket. Afterwards, she may have found little humor in it because she was having a bad day OR be UNHAPPY with her life. Who knows? Thanks for sharing this interesting incident.

Thanks for posting, sh97. I do know for a fact that she never realized what happened because nobody else commented on it via her. That much I know. The rest of my observations are just my theories based on what I see every day in the person.
