There's a circus literally a 2mins down the street from me atm. The animals Would NOT all be euthanized, there are sanctuaries that take captive circus animals that have been seized by the USDA or retired. Further the idea is to stop circuses that use animals, when this happens- no more animals will bred for circuses, no more animals will be stolen from the wild to perform in circuses

I went to a circus as a child and seen for myself how sad and lonely these beautiful animals are. I am 39 now with a 20yr old son and a 9yr old son. Unfortunately, there are still many circuses in the U.S. using captive wild animals, starting with Ringling Brothers and going down from there-- all bad, all inherently abusive and cruel to the animals, because no matter what they say about how "nice" they are to their captive animals, they are still captive, still stuck in grossly inadequate pens, cages and trucks, kept on the road most of the year, and forced to do silly, unnatural tricks for clueless customers.
I grew up in Greece in the late '60's, (I even saw a "dancing" bear once) and I've been back several times (including this summer) so I know that they still have a long way to go on animal welfare. So do all countries, really. Good luck to you.

I am glad the circus' have less animals now. As long as people see these images and understand the abuse together we can save future animals from being caught and put in circus'. Hey! You people should go feed your dog who's chained up the the backyard, or living in a kennel 24/7, and stop pretending you're so damn righteous. Stop going to the circus. They aren't a government agency, or something. If you stop paying them, they will vanish.

There's a circus literally a 2mins down the street from me atm. I posted on my fb page how disgusted and disturbed I was by it and someone I thought would be against it decided to post underneath that they went with a friggen smiley face. The animals Would NOT all be euthanized, there are sanctuaries that take captive circus animals that have been seized by the USDA or retired. Further the idea is to stop circuses that use animals, when this happens- no more animals will bred for circuses, no more animals will be stolen from the wild to perform in circuses

They are torturing the innocent, who have done nothing and don't belong in a circus. They belong in the wild with their families. Elephants are sensitive and emotional animals, they have very delicate tissue like skin (although it does look that way) and they do not deserve to be treated this way by sadistic, cruel and evil beings who are the ones who should be tortured. Its a wonder these elephants don't turn on them and kill them but they are afraid of the so called trainers

u have a very low opinion of circus's, go to the cirque de solie (may not have spelt it right sorry) thats has no animals and really is greatist show on earth, then theres flora circus who animals are kept on hundreds of arces of farmland all autumn winter and most of the spring and there animals only 'work' 2-3 months a year. so just cos ringling bros circus beats there animals keeps them in cramped cages doesn't mean they all do, should sort out those abusing animals

A circus shouldnt have animals full stop. Id like to get those fucking circus people, shove them in a tiny box where they cant stretch out fully and starve them for a while. Then id poke them with sticks and expect them to perform tricks every night to dumb people who don't know any better. Day in day out until they just want to die. This is why when elephants and other animals get out they go on a mad rampage and often strike back at their keepers.

Animal cruelty is absoloutly disgusting.
Keeping them as pets or in captivaty is ok with me as long as they have their needs.
But circuses are really cruel. Kids may think it's a magical sight to see tigers jumping through hoops but they have to think what are the tigers thinking as they go through this? They don't want to. So I agree with you.
Zoo Tycoon 2 is a good game for teaching people to be nice to animals. I know it's out of subject but it is really good for educating people.

Unfortunately, there are still many circuses in the U.S. using captive wild animals, starting with Ringling Brothers and going down from there-- all bad, all inherently abusive and cruel to the animals, because no matter what they say about how "nice" they are to their captive animals, they are still captive, still stuck in grossly inadequate pens, cages and trucks, kept on the road most of the year, and forced to do silly, unnatural tricks for clueless customers.

I grew up in Greece in the late '60's, (I even saw a "dancing" bear once) and I've been back several times (including this summer) so I know that they still have a long way to go on animal welfare. So do all countries, really. Good luck to you.

most circuses in this country dont use animals but they do all over the world!!!! looking at those beautiful intelligant elephants makes me feel ashamed to be human!!! if i could get my hands on those trainers then i wouldnt care that two wrongs dont make a right!!!

I am glad the circus' have less animals now. As long as people see these images and understand the abuse together we can save future animals from being caught and put in circus'. I don't go to circus' for this very reason. It is depressing to see a wild animal in a cage. I don't want to be in a cage why should they.

Circuses stinks! stop them! animals have as much life as we do as humans!Circuses keep these poor creatures captive in small dark cages.... Probably if the circus popularity and population of it goes up, the number animals might decrease according to how much animals they held captive

They look like sad, pathetic, horrible circuses, just like all of them do that use nonhuman animals for "entertainment". I hate the greedy, uncaring people who abuse and exploit their fellow mammals for profit. Thehy probably have good human performers, and might have a great circus if they weren't too greedy, lazy or stupid to give up the animal acts. I will not rest, stop or give up fighting them until the animal acts are all outlawed. I hope to see it at least in the U.S. in my lifetime.

I think that the subject of the video is wrong, all animals belong in the wild, but thats just my humble (and somewaht insignificant) opinion - animals will always lose out when they are with humans, they only shine as bright as they should (and then they always shine brighters than us) when the are in their natural setting.

If you thing an action is wrong, dont go against the way you are designed, dont do it. But dont expect the whole world to agree with your point of view, that why we need religion, to end all debate, introduce divine law, above all independent thinking, unchangening rules sactioned by God - our leader who knows the way - and mends the light at the end of the tunnel (sounds appealing? or appalling?)

Man, you are wrong in so many ways I don't even know where to start. Ethics are NOT subjective; they don't change from person to person. Wrong is wrong, it's a universal constant. Read your philosopy.

ethics are very subjective. the world is not a black & white place. Outside of murder or stealing their are many shades of gray , & colorfull situations. I don't live in a dream world I live in the real world where people on the fringe like you try to buck the system & have a very well minority subvert democracy, even when they are morally incorrect. wehre is the cruelty?? the elephant was shot by police most cases than not. other than that I did not see anything out of the ordinary other than people showing their pets for profits. however you cannot blame the whole for the actions of a few. of course this video is probably made by someone who has never experienced first how these animals live better than most people, or even traveled with any shows to spend more than a few minutes back stage.

Interesting idea, and I'm glad you're thinking ahead to the future, but there are more peaceful solutions. I'd rather follow Gandhi's teachings than Hammurabi.
