  • The beginning feels/sounds like "the death". Then makes the transition to "the rebirth." I think Chopin made this piece to remind us of our mortality. Just my opinion. /shrug

  • this piece's message:

u all will die one day

  • wouldn't it be funny if this turned into Moar Ghosts n' Stuff by Deadmau5? considering this is the intro for that :D

  • After hearing so many different version of this piece I till think Maurizio makes the best one~

  • i want this to be the song i hear before i die

  • this is so epic my pc isn´t able to play it ;(

  • i wonder why the begining part is known as the pallbearers theme when the rest of the song is really cheery

  • @phantom402 cheery??? its melancholic and pensive to me a nostalgic memory of lifes trials and tribulations before the final curtain call

  • after 4:00 it is so sensitive and perfect that makes me cry :(

  • hamma

  • Incredibly beautiful piece and wonderfully played. And thanks so very much for providing the score, which is fun to follow while listening to the music. I am getting hours and hours and days and days of enjoyment from this posting. Appreciated the bit of comment / explanation and history as well. ... Helene Grimaud, too, does a heavenly interpretation, as does Horowitz.

  • The Magnificent Maurizio at work.

  • Das war Chopin - sensibel und stolz, so wie sein Land.

  • Oh.....my.....goodness. I thought that pieces like adagio for strings and moonlight sonata were good....but wow. This one was amazing.

  • This is a great piece.

  • One of the greatest pieces of music to ever be composed....

  • This is the most melancholy piece of music ever composed on the face of humanity... Chopin is immortal
