  • Soloviev's entrechatsix, brisè and tour en l'air are terrific, there's nothing like that nowadays

  • I'm not going to lie, i wasn't terribly impressed with the 'en menage' section of Soloviev's solo, in comparison to other videos of him i have seen. However his diagonal section and beats absolutely blew me away, best execution and musicality i have ever seen!

  • @alexgotchable true, but i think back then it was a different style.... jetés were a little more of a "in between" step :P at least in this solo :P

  • Is this for sale on a DVD somewhere? looks like a compilation like "Stars of the Russian Ballet" or something.

  • OMG! *How* did he do it? All of Soloviev's beats are just a miracle - so clean, strong, precise and fast.

  • soloviev is sadly very underrated and not so famous as other dancers, but imo he is perhaps my favorite of all the former legends.... he had such a nice stage precense and a wonderful jump :)

  • @MrNocco UNDERKNOWN DUE THE FACT DID NOT DEFECTED BUT ALL THE BALLET LOVERS KNOWS HE WAS PHENOMENAL MAY BE THE GREATEST DANCER EVER

  • @pediatrapaola And he died too young found in the very misterious situation. Such a tragedy!

  • Magnificent, Soloviev is the best dancer ever

  • @lagartijococotero SURELY ,IMO ONLY VLADIMIR VASILIEV COULD BE CONSIDERED AT SAME LEVEL.

  • @pediatrapaola I knew you came here to talk about VOLODIA VODKA, too.

  • @Bnesque l am payed to promote the product by the factory on my car l have a big inscription too.

  • He died three years after this. RIP Soloviev, you are a legend!

  • @MrNocco LEGEND ABSOLUTELY RIP SUPERMAN

  • Komleva's variation is definitely the best I've seen. No one else performs it with such ease and style, in my opinion. The section with the releves on the diagonal is incomparable.

  • Komleva is spot on. Musically, her solo is the crispest, cleaness one I have seen. She has perfect musicality :)

  • it is quite wonderful but it's a pity the quality of the video because yo can't see all the movements they do perfectly. Anyway I still prefer Elisabeth Platel or Sylvie Guillem's version and for the jumps and male variation Soloviev has an amazing technique and strength but Nureyev's jump is better than his and I prefer Nicolas Le Riche version.

Even though there is something that only russian dancers have the amazing speed when doing pirouettes or jumping

  • @pauliinskii nureyev's jumps better thansoloviev in what universe? I saw them both live and it is Soloviev's excellence I remember more than Nureev's showmanship..

  • @looksee26 NUREYEV JUMP BETTER?NICHOLAS LA RICHE?OMG PAULIINSKY MUST BE DRUNCK.YURI SOLOVIEV IS WITH VOLODIA VASILIEV THE GREATEST DANCER OF ALL TIMES.R.I.P SUPERMAN

  • @pediatrapaola Right, my friend, Besides all the technical superiority, he has this very poetic interpretation. So as Madame Komleva.

    BRVISSIMI!!!

  • @Bnesque surely pauliinsky was drunck.

  • @pediatrapaola Haha, you are stingy as always.

  • @pediatrapaola And his tours en I'air are incredible!

  • @Bnesque Only Vaganova style could reach that artistry, right Mrs Bnesque?

  • @lagartijococotero Definitely! Without them we would lose Ballet itself. By the way, Nice to meet you outside!

  • @looksee26 no comparation among them, you so lucky having seen yuri live what did he performed?what about his dancing?

  • @pediatrapaola Splendid , What a beautiful connection they have! he is giving her and enhancing with so much genorosity her presence on stage He is a romantic!!!!

  • This is beautiful, especially Komleva's solo. Attitude and lots of control with both dancers. Also, love the synchronization.

  • My god this is beautiful dancing and also the variations they perform are more difficult than what the most technically assured dancers today would try.

  • Yuri Soloviev has the most powerful jump I've ever seen, and the softest landings in the ballet world. This was filmed just three years before commiting suicide. I think he was truly a stronger technician than Nureyev and Misha...sans the exposure the latter two had to western audiences. Ditto with Sizova.

  • he was a genius much more better than them he never had the pubblicity from roumored defection in full cold war times ,in my opinion he and volodia vasiliev were the best

  • amazing !

  • WOW WOW WOW!!!! Gotta love that Kirov precision! I'm so blown away right now!

  • Wonderful.

  • This is the best Pas Clasique I ´ve ever seen...

  • surely

  • Wow, Komleva's variation of the releve diagonal was flawless! It is much difficult to do than what Guillem does for this variation, though both versions are stunning.

  • the variation of Komleva: Oh my God!!!

  • Perfección.

  • This is amazing...! But what's with the poor lighting? :(

  • nel 1979 a leningrado ero ospite a cena a casa di alla osipenko, soloviev si era suicidato 2 anni prima ,e lei guardando alcune foto di soloviev mi disse che il mondo non avrebbe mai piu' visto un ballerino come lui

  • Magestic.

  • Damn this guy is good!!!

  • Oh yeah...It's worth mentioning that Komleva does en de dans pirouettes in the releve diagonal of her solo.

  • Oh I have this video! It's pretty sweet. Yeah I heard they taped this in a TV studio....means no sprung flooring...ouch.

    I love them....great dancing in like the 50s 60s

  • fantastic!!
