  • Those were not primitive artists. they had spent alot of time refining their drawing skills. you can see it in their confindence of line.

  • Is any of this art available as prints? Is it in a book yet?

  • @vangard213 um, yea, that's still called art. even nowadays, if a lil kid is bored and draws on the wall with a crayon... it's art. Art is a form of expression. a drawing is art.

  • The origin of painting

  • Tomorrow at art school I have to start a painting that suggests I'm in a cave with paintings. This video is a great help to imagine how I would feel if I really would see all this beauty. Although my heart would beat in my chest much faster than the heartbeat you added, it represents the tension and expectation!

  • Great video. The art of this cave is manufactured by neanderthals.

  • They had . . . genuis?

    You need a proofreader.

    Spelling counts.

  • @writeDVD Glad I'm not the only one that found that ironic.

  • Je connais depuis 1994.film bien monté et bien rythmé. Dommage quelques tremblements dans certaine prise de vue, il faut employé un pied , et un zoom très lent.

    il serait bon de transformé cela;

    sinon Bravo

  • Grüße aus der Oberlausitz!

  • Belle vidéo !

  • I'm in Art History, and I have been struggling to understand the meanings behind paleolithic cave art. This film offers a closer view of the paintings and, by seeing the details, I now understand what makes them fascinating. Thanks for posting the vid<D. I do like the music. It really stimulates a sense of mystery.

  • LOL!!!!!!!! FLIPPIN FUNNY

  • i know that this stuff is all fascinating but this music is kind of freaking me out

  • I know! It sounds like someone's about to die! Ha ha.

  • Marvelous. You have captured primative art in all it's glory!

  • L'ardèche !!!!

    C'est chez moi sa !!!

  • very cool! im doing a report on thin in school, so thank you. the music is a tad creepy, though.

  • WOW- THIS IS AWESOME!!! I am going to use this in my classroom...they're gonna love it!

  • hey great video.

    what's the song called?

  • Thank you. The song is Pax Deorum by Enya or the Taliesin Orchestra. I added the heartbeat in the background.

  • Génial !

  • very nice, I too am very interested in cave art. Have been to 12 caves in Spain, some not open to the public. But this one Chauvet, with the wall of the lions is the best. I have seen in Ribesella a cava with a mamonth outline. Cavas ruprestres in spanish

  • If you're interested in cave painting, have a look at the You Tube videos of "The Origin of Painting" (sound and light installation) by art group Disinformation

  • I am indeed very interested in it. Thank you for the information.
