  • Ahh, I'm so excited to buy the XCharger for the (hopefully) soon to be mine 2006 Mustang V6 I'm looking at. I don't get all the hate directed at those of us interested in modding V6 Mustangs. As others have said and I'll say again, I'm a young male and my insurance is insane as a rule, so I would rather buy a car I can actually afford to pay for. It's not like I wouldn't love a new 5.0, but I'm still looking forward to bettering my developing mechanical skills on a nice car like this.

  • I have an 07 V6 and starting to get into mods. Thanks to deployments and no kids, I paid the balance off of it. Im looking to get an 08 gt 500. Test drove the newer ones but for the money, I think ill just mod a slighter older one

  • Yeah guys you're not getting it. It's all relative; modding. It's a hobby, it's an enthusiasts play thing. I have a 2007 V6 and have had a blast bolting upgrades too it. Because I started with a V6, my initial buy-in was cheaper. I know guys that buy M3s and dump 18k in mods on them. It's all relative. For most it's not about "beating a GT" at all. It's the process of making something better and feeling/experiencing/hearing the results.

  • @CBMECHA who do you have insurance under? I'm 19 with a 2005 v6 mustang and I only pay 1500$ a year..

  • @yeuhunderoath I'm with Geico, but i'm not American. And yes, I do have a clean record.

  • I don't see why people always hate on us v6 guys. Sure I would love a v8 Mustang, but I'm only 18. I saved for a year and paid the $14,000 price tag for my '07 v6. My insurance it $4,500 a year..no joke.So I can't imagine how much the insurance on a GT would be for me! lol

  • @CBMECHA Because your car will NEVER sound like a v8. Thats why you should buy one

  • @dadonator15 And I can't afford one now. I'm a college student from out of the country. That means no job for me. And that's why I cannot get one.

  • @dadonator15 unless you cam it ;)

  • @CemetaryGateML

So if a GT was only $22-24k at the dealership in my area and my insurance was ~$1,200 a year for a 24 year old male how its it better to buy a V6 and upgrade it to something that can marginally keep up with a GT? I actually, purchased the Premium Ford ESP for the car & extended the warranty until it expired last February (that cost me ~$1000).

No offense Spartan19069, but sometimes its just better and cheaper to start with a better platform right off the bat.

  • @CemetaryGatesML

Where in the hell did you buy your V6? I bought my 06 GT for literally $17k in 2008 with 25k miles and it was flawless. Granted, this was via a private transaction; yet, the same car was going for ~$22-24k. Given this I fail to see your "purchase savings." Insurance is completely variable based on your age, sex, or location, but being a 24 year at time of purchase the car I was looking at ~$1,200 per year for full coverage. Where do you get $2k??

  • Thats one thing I don't get with V6 owners that heavily mod them where they say, "Oh, I pay less for insurance, get better fuel economy, & can beat a GT"

The second you put 7 PSI of boost in the 4.6L 3V you are at ~500+ hp. Game over for the V6 at this point.

Just start w/ a GT or GT500 right off the bat. I'm sorry but doing a rear end swap, adding a blower, exhaust, & etc. just to keep up w/ a GT will cost more for parts/labor in the long run & at the end of the day its still just a V6.

  • @syvrin uhhhhh no.

yea less for insurance, about $2,000 cheaper, far better gas millage. and cheaper to buy.

when i got my V6 stang brand new ( it already had the 8.8 rear end, and duel exaust, and a possi 3:55 )

costed 24k out the door, also came with the upgraded sound system, leather and ford racing cold air intake.

to buy z GT with the same shit was close to 31k ... so thats a 7k diffrence + nearly 2k for my stupid insurance company. so yes its very much worth charging a V6

  • So let me get this straight. You are installing a Mustang GT body kit that may or not be new takeoff prepainted. To balance the look of the rear you'll need to install a dual exhaust system. Next, you are going to spend $4,500 for the X-charger plus install if you don't do it yourself.

At this point for parts you are at ~$6,000 not including labor/paint if you can't do it yourself.

Unless you like being THAT different & pissing away money to almost or barely beat a Mustang GT?

  • @syvrin its because modding your car is fun! :) and instead of getting a gt and not having enough money left over to do anything with it and then youre done. But if you get a v6 and save a couple grand you can spend it on the mods that you want and after installing yourself you learn and grow with your car and it really becomes your baby :) aaaaand it is cheaper on insurance and better fuel economy

  • sweet now its just as fast as a 2012 v6 mustang.. lol

  • how much does this supercharger cost ??

  • This 4.0 vs the 5.0 I think the 5.0 would beat it without a blower

  • Wonder if the supercharger is MADE IN CHINA like the Yingyang (mustang) is

  • will never get the V8 hahaha (v6) most funny joke i ever heard XD

  • 270 Rear wheel HP is about 320-340 Crank HP. My GT is 386 HP to the rear wheels non supercharged, it will take this supercharged V6 :) I take the new Hemi Challengers. The new Camaro's give me a good run.

  • @milerman889 try taking the new gts or the boss 302 :)

  • @antmantkant Never raced a boss 302. I have raced a new 5.0 and lost by .2 of a second 1/4 mile. I can take the new Camaros and Challengers. The Challenger is wayy to heavy. I'll be looking at around 400 HP soon with the correct tune. Thats another 14 HP, I may keep up with the new 5.0 :)

  • sick

  • thats funny how this 07 mustang pushes 271 hp ...but a mustang gt stock pushes 300hp....gt killer.... my ass

  • @clboy35 Hp isnt everything in a car you know that right? weight-hp-aerodynamics-suspencion everything makes a diference and while a v8 is heavier than a v6 271hp-less weight to 300-hevier weight, less weight wins easily

  • @Justise77 yes i do know that HP isnt everything but when u compare the weight. the gt is only 100 or so pounds more and in addition with a few bolt ons such as air filter, spark plugs, and wire set.... hell even put some octane booster in the gas and when that gt goes against the v6 in this video yeah it may be close but the gt wins 9 out of 10

  • @Justise77 While your spelling proves otherwise the Corvette is proof on wheels that Power:Weight ratio means everything.

  • @powerbolt09 english isnt my main language

  • @clboy35 gt makes 300hp at the engine. thats like 265 to the wheels...

  • @turbonegro1120 okay so the 271 in this v6 has 236 at the wheels.....gt still wins

  • @clboy3e5 no, the 271 is the measure to the whels. dyno's only measure rear wheel horsepower. this is the non intercooled x charger as well. the new intercooled one one puts out over 300hp to the wheels for the v6.

  • Would this upgrade list work on a ' mustang? 8.8 rear axel, 3.73 geras, x-charger, and GT body kit? (same thing you guys did) and dual exaust?

what would be a better super charger, the kenne bell or x charger? I kinda like the KB whine..

  • it sounds horrible

  • I have a 2008 v6 mustang it was fast without the supercharger but once I instaled it made a very big difference, now I can laugh to a guy with a gt lol

  • @jesussin13 yeah but the get can always be made faster no offense.

  • About how much do you think a supercharger would cost to buy and get installed?

  • Hey imshaft2u why don't u look at the video again. They tell u that they put fog lights and everything else on it u dip shit

  • would this work on an automatic ? or do i have to have a customized gear for the car ? you might tell me to get a manual but i never did good with manual cars.

  • hey y el turbo cargador lleva sincronisacion con respecto al motor? o simple mente es como la bomda de inyeccion diesel que no tiene sincronizacion?

  • Hard to buy this crap, I noticed that the 360 HSP expectation resulted in 271 hsp to the rear wheels but what is more sceptic is the 2nd dyno shows a car with GT fog lights and duel exhaust with GT valance not available on the bone stock v6

  • how much rwhp? with tune ,dual exhaust

  • Fuck making a v6 look like a gt.... Just do the engine modifications and keep it a sleeper

  • should i supercharge or twinturbo my v6?

  • @wonderbreadkw if u have that kinda money for twin turbos buy a GT and suke something up thats worth racing

  • @RednekDude15 thats the thing. i like my v6. its fun to drive. you would know if u drive one. btw v6 mustang are worth tuning up. gt killa brah. true story

  • @wonderbreadkw yea i have a v6 lol. i wanna sell it and buy a camaro. havin to replace sumin new on it every fuckin day

  • @RednekDude15 ya but what year do u have. i have an 07. it has had 0 problems

  • @wonderbreadkw 98. and of course not its only 3 years old wait till like 100k miles if you even have it that long

  • Bamachips is a joke because i ordered a chip from mr. studdard and in his infinite wisdom after four weeks never got it and had to fight with the credit card company inorder to get the money back from the creep. DO NOT BUY ANTHYING FROM BAMA CHIPS OR DOUG STUDDARD OR ANYTHING ASSOCIATED WITH HIM.

  • why not just start out with a gt?

  • Supercharged V6 Mustang!?

I'm a BIG fan of. It's a under dog but I still think it would be FUN ASHELL to drive and have... I should buy one? I wish.

  • What is the total cost..Man I want one..

  • fucking 4000 bucks with money invested sell your 07 v6 and get like 10 grand for it and buy a gt

  • nice very nice indeed i need one.

  • Why not get the GT and boost it another 100 hp ?

  • Or you could just use that ~$5,000 for the X-Charger and buy a GT. Better growth potential and you aren't "wimpy" out of the box.

  • So remind me again how this is a GT killer??? its only 271bhp and 276ftlbs.... A bone stock GT is 289bhp and 310ftlbs. and dont say it would win because the v6 is lighter. its not going to make any difference when the V8 has over 300ftlbs torque, plus the gt wont have any kind of lag like you would get from a V6 with a charger. So if you think about it this car just ended up costing more then a stock GT.

  • @eltigreandthewalrus

You weren't paying attention. They said 271 REAR WHEEL HP, not brake horsepower.

  • @adogg619 ya i was also wrong on the gt having 289bhp. its also rwhp. i've got an S281 non charged and im putting down 320rwhp. only diffrents from it and a stock gt is an intake/ plentum, and a louder muffler. Oh and the side badges..lol.

I would love to see a procharged v6 take me on. maybe the new 2011 v6 with 305hp, but i still dont think that would do it ether.

  • how much does the supercharger cost and the new gears

  • is this safe on the stock engine ?

  • hmmm maybe if they did somethin about the exhaust then maybe they might have come closer to 340hp... open it up! 2.5in is the way to go

  • lol somebody failed 2nd grade math

  • 185whp to 271whp....not over 100 what are they talking about

  • over 100hp increase? ummm. 185hp up to 271 is not 100hp difference. (its 86)

i want an 07 v6, but 223 ft lbs or torque is kind of a let down =/

  • haha i love how @ 3:35 they say "we know our v6 will be pushing 340+ horsepower". and then @ 4:23 whats the horsepower rating on the dyno? only 271.. what happened guys?

  • 340 block power

  • No that's not right. If you get 340 to the crank but only about 270 to the wheels then something is wrong. You should only have about a 15% power decrease. My Mach 1 gets 315 to the crank but about 285 or so to the wheels.

  • he must have meant 340 at the flywheel and 270 is at the wheels, thats about right if you figure in 20% drivetrain loss.

  • 340 bhp and 271 rwhp lol

  • @FullThrottleStangs04 yeah, the narrator and some of the facts they throw out are absolute b/s, a lot of theatrics, but you could, in all probability pull over 350 with a smaller puller, better intake and higher octane tune and fuel

  • @FullThrottleStangs04 i think when they said 271 they meant rwp. rwp originally was like 187

  • @FullThrottleStangs04 Maybe the intercooled kit..But mayeb they meant BHP?

  • @FullThrottleStangs04 .... stock single exhaust system (exhaust manifolds, mid-pipe, axle back).... ---> makes up ALL the difference

  • @FullThrottleStangs04 and then he said it added over 100 horsepower. 185 to start and 271 to end. thats 86...hmmm

  • @mstrchief43 i can get more hp out of other parts that will cost ALOT less than this 4500 dollar supercharger.

  • @FullThrottleStangs04

they are talking total hp. the dyno shows rwhp. assuming a 20% drive train loss they would be close.

  • @FullThrottleStangs04 he probally meant at the flywheel. but i dont know.

  • @FullThrottleStangs04 to the wheels he was probably saying from the crank

  • @FullThrottleStangs04 HP at the crank is different than HP at the rear wheels.

  • @FullThrottleStangs04 They are talking about hp at the crank when they said 340+ the dyno reads out your wheel hp two totally different things.

  • @FullThrottleStangs04 he meant 340 at the crank. 270 at the wheels is probably just a few under 340 at the crank

  • @FullThrottleStangs04 BRAKE HORSE POWER =/= WHEEL HORSE POWER.

  • @FullThrottleStangs04 the guy said the engine would produce 340+ horsepower and it probably did the dyno just showed that only 270 horses made it to the wheel. The car probably is making 340 BHp.

  • @FullThrottleStangs04 the 340 is fly wheel hp and the 271 is rear wheel hp.

  • @FullThrottleStangs04 All cars have lower then advertised HP at the wheel because makers measure them at the flywheel. The Bugatti Veyron has 1000 HP at the flywheel, but it likely gets about 800 at the wheel.

  • pro charger pwn turbo and supercharger lol x3 just saying

  • hmmmm considering a procharger is a supercharger ;-P just saying.....and no turbos definetly are not pwned by any supercharger 90% of all turbos give u more hp at the same boost level.....granted im not saying the best supercharger is gonna be beat by a cheap turbo but i mean quality to quality

  • superchargers own turbos on a drag strip, the turbo has a higher top end

  • yea, thats if you grab traction

  • how much is it?

  • What would be the best or great supercharger for a v6?

  • what is the difference in acceleration numbers? like 0-60 0-100+

  • where do i buy it ?

  • If you were paying attention, They already said they put the GT body panels on the car. You'd be suprised how much the little 4.0 can breathe...

  • umm, gt body kit....she says so...go ahead and watch again:D

  • well you can get a v6 version of the GT foglamps but they replaced the front grill and they replaced the rear bumper to make it a GT clone but faster than any GT out there

  • I believe you could also get an 03/04 svt cobra eaton supercharger and get a V6 kit and put it on there

  • how much does one of those superchargers cost?

  • the cost for the whole kit is about $4,400

  • how about gast? does it eat more gas ?

  • lol, most people who put a supercharger on thier car arnt worried much about gas millage

  • well to be honest, gas mileage REALLY aint that much difference. i've done the same thing here and have pretty much the same mpg rate really. . .

that is..... if i dont set the beast loose lol. shift at 3-3.5k rpm and well the MPG seems to stay close to stock. but open that SC up and well, difference story lol.

all depends on how u drive it. lol

  • hmm, I thought the GT came with an aluminum block as opposed to an iron block in the v6, and was at 305-310 hp. so I don't think this is actualy a GT killer but it surely has the potental to be one. do correct me if I'm wrong, it's still a kick ass car though.

  • you also gotta consider the fact that the v6 is lighter, and the torque band is completely different when your talking forced induction. it may have similer hp numbers but the kick off the line is gonna kill a stock gt

  • how much is one of those beastly superchargers?

  • would this work for a 3.8L 99 mustang??

  • nope, you're better off going for an ATI Procharger kit. They run about $4000+ supporting mods.

  • would it work for a 1994 mustang v6?

  • ughhhhh!!!! sweeeeeet, I want one of those X-Chargers.

definetely the easiest to install, the most consumer friendly for sure.

  • does he have any for a 2000 v6 mustang?? and i would have to upgrade other parts if i wanted this?? like what? somebody plz reply thanks

  • As long as you have the 4.0L SOHC this system will fit on your mustang, ranger, explorer, whatever!

I am drooling at this right now, and can't wait to get my own

BTW I have personally dealt with both Explorer Express and Doug @ Bama Chips and would recommend them to anybody looking for performance products.

Doug is an extremely reliable guy, very intune with what his customers are looking for. And if you run into any problems or questions, he seems to have the answer for anything!

  • there are differant options for your 2000 such as Vortech and others.

  • i dont think theres an x-charger for that model go to supersixmotorsports they have a manifold that adapts the eaton m112 off the 04 cobra to your car

  • what setup of gears would work better between 3.73-4.10

  • Wow! Does he make a kit for the 3.5 V-6 Chrysler 300?

  • no just explorers and mustangs but vortech or procharger might have one for the chrysler

  • is it true that its not smart to put xchargers on mustangs over 50,000 miles?

and also doesnt this reduce the life of ur car?

  • Not necessarily. If you are rodding it day in and day out, then yes you will significantly reduce the lifespan of your engine and drivetrain.

Believe it or not, if you do highway driving, and can stay in a negative boost condition (-10 -> 0 psi of boost) you will see a significant increase in fuel mileage, PROVIDED you can stay out of the positive boost, after owning a supercharged SSEi, i know its nearly impossible not to use the power that you have at your disposal.

  • would that fit in a 98 camaro or is it only for mustangs and f-150s?

  • This XCharger is only for Mustangs.

  • No unfortunately Dave does not offer Superchargers for the Camaro. He only specializes in Mustangs and Explorers. But if you give him a call, he might be able to direct you to the right place.

  • @xskullkingx09 There are TONS of Camaro Supercharger and a Turbochargers..Now a Roots Style Blower(The one in this vid) I'm not sure about but you can definatly get a Centri Blower for it.

  • You can call the manufacturer direct.

Call Explorer Express and ask for Dave:

Make sure you tell him you saw his video.

    Explorer Express

    toll-free: 888-EXPLORER (888-397-5673)

    707-254-7025

    fax: 707-254-9629

  • yea how much does that run 4$?

  • where can i get the Xcharger Supercharger ?is there any web site where ic an buy it?

  • sweet video, plz check out my video of my mustang, plz comment and suggest what i should get for my mustang, im lookin to get a supercharge, like the Xcharger. thanks-

  • does the x-charger give off more horse power than a vortech supercharger?

  • Great video, what price does the x-charger run?

  • Call Explorer Express and ask for Dave:
