  • @hardhittingtrunk

    Yes Sir,

Nearly every year for the month of July. I run many fishing charters during that time.

    Godspeed,

    Capt Ben

  • Best place for snook in st.pete area?

  • @FforFrag

Check out the Mad Snookers channel. He fishes from St. Pete down to Charlotte Harbor. I have not fished up that way.

    Godspeed,

    Capt Ben

  • @captchancey

    thanks capt.

  • Heyy Skipper, do you have any recommendations on good snook or redfish spots in the Sarasota/Venice area? Appreciate the help.

  • @smn475

The Venice Jetty is great at times I have heard. I have never fished up that way for Snook though.

    Godspeed,

    Capt Ben

  • hey where are some good places to fish from land here in new port richey?

  • @YourFriendlyMe

I would help ya if I could but I don't fish that area.

    Godspeed,

    Capt Ben

  • @YourFriendlyMe I'm in port richey as well. I hear back behind the mall on 19 there is some good fishing. The only thing is you need a small boat to get back there.

  • @YourFriendlyMe The power plant off of Alt.19. You can fish off of the dock there.

  • love the vids , what size lieter are u guys using ?

  • let the rod do the work.

  • All time fave video.

  • Where are you in florida?

  • @thejawa01

    Capt Ben

  • Where are you in florida cause I live in Pt. Charlotte...

  • @BBbassboy70

    Awesome!

    Godspeed,

    Capt Ben

  • Do you only chum with live bait while around docks, or is that something you do whenever you snook fish?

  • @dtorres2832

We actually do it all the time for all types of species.

    Godspeed,

    Capt Ben

    We were using whitebait/scaled sardines.

    Godspeed,

    Capt Ben

  • Hey Ben!

Is captchancey@aol.com still your email? i sent you an email.

    --- August Gruneisen

  • Hey ben, what is your rod reel combo along with your line type, brand, test and what kind of rig. Thanks

  • @chazzyboy1234

It's according to what part you are talking about. We like the 4000 size Shimano Sargosa, Symetry, Stradic and Spheros with 30 pound braid and 40 pound leader for Snook. The rods are 10-20 pound class and 7ft long.

    Godspeed,

    Capt Ben

  • I'm not the only one who thinks the drag is too loose. I can understand not wanting your line to get snapped, but if you're going after fish this size, with good line, you got nothin to worry about ;)

  • i live in south florida.. and now its a good season for snook fishing.. do you think i should use live bait.. or lures? witch one would be better for me?

  • Dude tighten ur drag the northerns i catch everyday are that size and muxh tougher, but

They dont pull out that much line!

  • i go fishing with my bro and my friend under a bridge and they catch snook with the same exact lure im using and they land alot and i havent caught one wat should i do

  • @floridaoutdoorangler

Watch what they do and if that doesn't work ask them.

    Godspeed,

    Capt Ben

  • @floridaoutdoorangler thanks i tried a different lure a red tail hawk and lost a big snook then i threw out a mullet swim bait i ended up losing it to a 4 foot tarpoon

  • what a hot spot! or is that the same spot throughout?

  • not bad

  • how do you catch all that bait? I mean do you have a spot where there always at? or do you have to find them by sight and fish finders etc....

  • @pottyab

Black Pearl Cast Net is how I catch them.

    Godspeed,

    Capt Ben

  • thats a red

  • wat bait did u use

  • were r u fishing 4 snook?

  • i love your snook lights i fish behind your house all the time and i see you with the lights off always watching t.v. turn both snook lights on

  • ya'll fools are PRO's....? Your str8 garbage.. catching nothing but DINKS.. Not one slob in the whole show... Who the hell is paying you clowns to produce what immigrants get in cast nets!!!???

  • @chopy4 dude...they caught a 600 pound goliath bass, this is just one of there shows these ARE pros

  • Congratulations from Brasil! This species of fish is considered one of the best for fishing here in Brasil, for being too fighter! Here we call them "ROBALO-FLECHA"!!!!on the last day 14/03 we"ME and my DAD" fished one of these .We've got 20 of these fish at the site of my father,i`ll post the videos here on youtube"SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH(i`m brasilian)!!!!!Congratulations again!!!!!

  • They do eat the bait....and they are now heavier!!!

  • What glasses do you prefer Costa del Mars?

  • Been fishing all my life and Costa Del Mars are the best

  • That redfish looked illin man

  • okay lil wayne

  • nice catches!

haha but why would u put ur catch in ur bait well haha

  • Yeah that crossed me as odd as well...

  • haha at least it wasnt only me..

  • they have to be live for tournaments

  • They are in a tournement so the fish have to stay alive.

  • ohhh that makes sense.. i just thought the snook would eat the bait

  • they have to be live for tournaments

  • haha i understand that

  • Nice Snooks where were you fishing at please.

  • nice job great vids...

  • wow now thats a beauty

  • lols at 7.17 theres a small fish outside

  • whats with the net? don't be scared to lip a fish

  • why do you say at the end of you replys "god speed"

    just a question

    please peply

  • God Speed means: "to go with God" or "May God Be with you throughout the day."

    God Speed,

    Capt Ben

  • ok, thanks

    sorry about my spelling mistake

  • On August 22, 2009 Chew On This was the first and only fishing show to reach 10,000,000 million YouTube viewers. Thank you all!

  • i have a question if u put a snook into your bait bucket or live well will it eat the bait?

  • Not usually.

    God Speed,

    Capt Ben

  • good job

  • do u guys usually fish for snook when its high tide?

  • Not really. We like all different tides for Snook fishing.

    God Speed,

    Capt Ben

  • Hey captn. I need a suggestion on what kinds of bait to use. I'm going fishing on the shoreline of Va Beach. I'm not aiming for small croakers, spots, etc. I'm targeting bigger fish. What is a good kind of bait i should use? Artificial or live are acceptable recommendations. Random people can suggest to this comment as well. =)

    Thanks,

    Sammie.

  • I would catch a croaker and then use it as bait.

    God Speed,

    Capt Ben

  • Capt,

Im 14 years old. and honestly wouldnt a croaker aim for fish way too big for what i can handle?

or maybe i should use small croaker?

    thanks.

    Sammie.

  • If you want big fish that is what you need to do.

    God Speed,

    Capt Ben

  • captchancey plz respond to me im almost desperate for a big snook or tarpon theyre are NO snook here plz tell me u do charters

  • thanx jsg2891 apparently i think u no wat ur talkin about...i also use DOA shrimp do u use those as well i hav had alot of luck with the glow and rootbeer colored ones..does cut ladyfish work as well if so how and where do u catch ladyfish

  • whats a good lure to use for snook out of port everglades? would you say those things called piltchers or something like that?

    God Speed,

    Capt Ben

  • do u do charters????...and also my brother made this account i dont lik spongbob hahaha

  • capt..ive been on a million charters and cant seem to catch anything that i want to...i love fishing for snook or tarpon but i live in jax and snook arent gunna happen but if u no any places or would take me out fishing that would b amazing..btw do mirrOlures and bucktails work as good as topwaters

  • i prefer big live baits but mirrolure is a good brand, ..i've got nice snook on their topwaters and want to try some suspending ones..try some of the different kinds and see what they prefer in what situation..i prefer natural colors like black, shades of green, blue..mirrodine and catch 2000 are popular models..i've caught snook on bucktail jigs too but i personally prefer soft plastic jigs better, good for tarpon and big jack crevelle too but make sure the jig has a strong hook

  • they should deff broadcast this on the tv i watch this and i think its great

  • what channel does your show broadcast on

  • We are on YouTube only for now. There are a little over 250,000 people per week that watch the show here.

    God Speed,

    Capt Ben

  • Captain, How long have you been fishin? And are most of your trips out of florida? Love your videos, Fishin is my life.

  • 34 years! We have filmed two shows out of FL. The Carolina Red Drum show and the Texas Hoos Wahoo show. Thanks for watching.

  • freeline some shrimp 10-20 feet off a sea wall and you'll be hauling them in, trust me.

  • I'm 14 been fishin since i was 4. It's not that big of a deal. Fishin is my life, Goin off shore this weekend out of Galveston. Gonna have some fun. Hopefully catch some better fish then this ;)

  • @bTPaTrioT your so cool not ,iam 15 and fishing inshore is just the best . permit ,snook, and tarpon, also dont forget the hard to catch bones are way more fun and difficult . then sitting your ass on a chair trolling with a dead fish on the end of you line .

  • i love fishing.But I am only ten.

  • I'v only ever fished for small game. But then again I am only 16 (Only been at it for just over a year). Not too many places around where I live to fish. Biggest fish i'v caught was a 21 Pound trout, and it was fierce enough! How you manage to catch your 1000 Pound Hammer heads and 600 Pound Bass.... you must be as strong as a god my friend ahahaa :)
