  • This is nice. What is the compatitibility list? I have 82 wii games, would I be able to play all of them on an external hard drive. What hard drives work best? Can a 1.5TB one work, and would that hold 82 wii games.

  • 3 or 3??!!

  • there are 2 usb cables sticking out from my wode. will i have to plug them both in?

  • @yostoyou haha i have the same WODE, but i Guess we just plug in one huh?

  • @MCRTheEnd i found out that you only need to plug in one if you have an external hard drive that uses an AC adapter. if it doesn't, plug in both of the usb cables since it won't get enough power if you don't.

so i had to plug in both actually :P

  • thank you very

  • Why not just soft mod it free and looks better

  • @atnipjoe yeah, your right, just running USBLoaderGX pretty much does the same thing, and for free, but only with wii games though :/

  • @atnipjoe Because soft modding can't USB load GCN games and if I both soft mod and use the WODE I can get all the nice looking homebrew plus the added WODE functionality. Additionally, you may set up the WodeFlow application that is a version of WiiFlow built specifically for the WODE that supports Gamecube games.

  • some games run faster in an external harddrive with a power supply. unlike portables like flashdrives and memory cards.

  • on the recent wode firmware there is 2 update files titled WRITE and READ.. O_o.

  • @NandaTemee that is because it is for the hard drive file system ntfs

  • Question: I installed the Wode and everything, but now my dvd drive makes this horrible sound and does not read games :( what should i do?

  • Um this thing is great and does it damage your wii? Is it illegal?

  • I did the install, but when i pressed power the blue light would flicker and go out. Then I opened up the wii and checked all connections: now when i power on all i hear is a repeated, very soft and rhythmic clicking sound. what have i done wrong???

  • I installed the wode and I can use the wifi in the news, the weather...., but I can´t use the wifi in the videogames oline and appears code error

  • fantastic guide! i think i'll stick with soft-modding though

  • ciao a tutti!!!!

  • great tutorial, but why not just use USB loader GX?

  • i have the wode jukebox and my wii is 4.3e

what happens when i install the wodeflow with the homebrew channel and update the wii system ??

  • Will this, in theory, work with any version of the Wii that is currently out now? I realized newer drives won't have the capability to read backups, but you can still use external hard drives correct?

  • can anyone tell me where I can find the update file please.

  • Are discs working with gc2 d2e

  • part 3 OR 3? fix the title

  • Where do I download the updates for the wode

  • great video if you dont work for wode you need too!!!!

  • works on gc2-d3-2?

  • @SieghartzBR

For loading from USB or SD yes, but disc no.

  • @modsupplier thanks but my games won't read...

  • @modsupplier What if I were to replace the D3-2 drive with one that works with discs?

  • @modsupplier

I have followed the 3 part video. Well explained.

The only issue is that my SD drive will not load/recognise the card.

I have tried 3 diff types of SD cards - all less than 2Gb..

How can I tell if the drive is working correctly?

  • I installed the Wode, and I can't load any games from my HDD. I always get Error has occured. "Press Eject, message all the time." Flat Mode works with all my original games. I'm on 4.2U, tried HBC, which came back to the same error and Gecko gets stuck on Launch game when I try. :( I updated and downgraded to 1.28 and 2.1A and both dont work. Ripping on 2.1A was working. My HDD is NTFS.

  • @yragorn

First I would try and re-format your HDD, to NTFS like before. If you have a Wode with the single USB power cable, try and plug the drive into a USB hub and then into the Wode. Take one of your original games that is working fine in FlatMode and use the rip feature on the wode to make a backup of it to your HDD, then try and launch that title. If that does not work, try another hard drive as well just to see.

  • @modsupplier

  • i updated to 4.2 now works thanks :)

  • What is the Wii Wode Jukebox for?

    Just a question. Curious

  • theres no use for this . u could just use usb loading on the wii . the only thing this has on usb loading is that u cant play gc games and only a hand full of bad games dont work on it .

  • hi, im running of firmware 3.4e it wont play usa games at the mo. any idea how i can update my firmware to 4.1. i do have new supermario on disc just wanna make sure i dont update to 4.2 or higher when i update my firmware. so if there is something to download so i can update my wii to 4.1 thats what im after thanks.

  • @satz2000

Yeah update to 4.1 firmware, if you have an original of the New Super Mario Bros from your consoles region, it will update the console to 4.1 for you.

  • @modsupplier

thanks, i updated to 4.1e of new super mario bros. still have black screen thing going on with all Super Mario Galaxy 2 after you press start screen goes to black? and also won't load up customs games like mario kart and new super mario.

  • @satz2000

Mario Galaxy 2 might need 4.2 update to run, but it's not worth updating to 4.2 if you want to keep all region function, if you don't care about all region support you could try and update the 4.2 firmware using the manual online update feature in the Wii. Mario Kart and NSMB should be working, maybe check your ISO's are ok and that you have the Wode set to your consoles correct region.

  • @satz2000 thats because u have an outdated version of ios56, its possible to install it without updating to 4.2 check out: wiihacksDOTcom/wii-games/59089-guide-super-mario-galaxy-2-a.html

  • i just downloaded the 4.2 firmware update, would this still work??

  • @Gladiator2155

Yes the Wode will still work, but you wont be able to play games from other regions from HDD, you can play games from other regions from disc if you install GeckoOS and load them from inside GeckoOS

  • how do i put the iso on my hdd

  • i just have my WODE but i don't have a hdd yet. Witch one should i buy?

srry 4 bad english im Dutch

  • @stijnkessel It's best to use a 3.5" self powered drive if you can

  • @modsupplier ok but white brand and type or something?

  • @modsupplier it's better to use one that uses a external power source they load games faster then a usb powered harddrive

  • @stijnkessel Im using a 2,5" USB-powered HDD (LaCie Little Disk). It works great. But you can use a cheaper USB flash drive too. The slower the transfer speed is, the longer it will take for the game to load. But it won't affect the gameplay!(such as lag etc.)

  • I am interested in this if I install it on a d32 wii will my wii still be able to load original discs?

  • Yep sure will. :)

  • So how about an answer on the Wiiware games?

  • @Cinestro Not sure about that sorry, maybe ask on the Wode forums.

  • need help with firmware update, download file from wode website un zip and add to sd card, not seen by wode??

  • @welder1977 Try and format your SD card, make it FAT32 file system, if that does not work try a different SD card, we have seen some of the older 256mb for example cards not work, grab something new like a 2GB and see how that goes

  • cheers, great video, so can you still run wiiware gaones on it without having to install things like the homebrew channel?

  • @kryptonite747 Thats exacly what I'm wondering: can u play/load the wiiware and vc games the same way u do with the regular wii games (like from u external hard drive)?

Haven't able to get a clear answer...

  • does it matter how big your external is? can the wode still read a 2tb external?

  • it can ;) its a linux running in the wode. you just need a filesystem that supports 2tb (NTFS or EXT3), but you could still partition your drive, so you would have like a 200GB partition.

  • Great video! I accidentally gave it a 2 star rating, but it deserves a 5 star rating. I was trying to add to my Favorites list and somehow clicked on the stars.

    Outstanding tutorial!
