  • Love this... it sounds like some sort of decent into madness!

  • Brilliant.

  • I am nihlist........

  • Keep in mind this work was written long before the 12 tone row compositional technique was developed, even before fully abstract painting had come forth in the visual arts. Ive's was a true pioneer, oh pioneer!

  • Ives was a true visionary and an American original.

  • Even after Bernstein expended so much energy to popularize This great visonary's music oh well. I like this conductors slower tempo. tomestubbs said it well.

  • Written in 1906 this truly is still ahead of its time. Such a powerful and original Nocturne, one of my my favorites. The amalgamation of chords and how the repeating theme continues all through the piece despite the aleatoric events (Chaos) is amazing because it works musically and it paints a timbral picture with an expanded palette.

  • I´m lovin it^^

  • An interesting juxtaposition of atonal and formal melodies. Moreover, the performance brilliantly captures a strident tambre unique in this field. Certainly, it is one of the best explorations of chaos and the ambiguous. As a foremost intellect once said in reaction to this work (I think it was Adorno in an unexpected moment of jest): lawn mower for sale $100.00 or very near offer.
