I love the beegees they are often painted with a broad brush because of the disco years. People tend to forget about this song and others from the 20 years they were recording music. Also most forget how many albums were sold during the disco era and I bet the dislikers even sang thier songs when it came on the radio.
OMG Robin at 19, he and Maurice just teenage boys. And now 40+ years later still so popular. I fell in love with them when I was a teenager in the early 1970's and still enjoy them today. We miss you Maurice, Robin we love you, be strong.
This is lovely. Looking forward to hearing Robin's new version with the soldiers and also hoping he is getting better after his recent health troubles xxx
I can't believe that the camera never once showed Vince from the front as the podium moved around! I'd be well offended if I was him! He was a good-looking bloke too....
@m1kewithaone It's about a man who killed his wife's lover and is sentenced to the electric chair. He is spending the final hour of his life before his death and he is with the priest.
As I said on another site, was always a little sad that the british public never took the "pre-Grease" BeeGees fully to its heart - which is a pity since their unique sense of harmony made a great contribution to the pop music ethic. Also not to be missed is their "Idea" album
@purselady2 When I was younger, about around age 9, I fancied guys who were that skinny. Now I've up my standards a bit. But Barry has a nice skinny or was it the awesome outfit that brought shape.
@purselady2 They don't have chubby singers now either. You must be skinny to be attractive is my motto. (Coming from a non thin/average person). In all honesty that's the way it is.
@purselady2 Many, if not most, of the British rockers from this period were heavily into amphetamines which will keep you very thin. The Small Faces even wrote a song about their speed dealer - Here Come The Nice. I'm not suggesting the Bee Gees were as I have no idea and I know Robin Gibb is just as skinny today. Just that it wasn't simply a matter of less junk food.
What a great video! It seems old and new at the same time! I like the cheese factor of Robin and Barry lifting their arms and ahhing toward the end. Love that--and I've never seen Robin look cuter!
This was the Bee Gees 6th hit & 2nd U.K number 1, reaching the top on 7th-Aug-68, they had 5 reach the number 1 slot. They are singing "one more hour & my life will be through". as this is a song about a man on death row!
Can someone tell me what Robin is saying at the end of 'And it's only her love that keeps me wearing this....' It's such a beautiful song but that's the only word that I cannot make out.
@rockinrex i think he is saying ,one more and my life will be blue ....hope that is where you needed help and i am correct if not you may find the words to this song and many other songs on the song lyrics .com
