The Canon 5d Mark II is the best choice because it has a full frame sensor. The lenses, when used with this camera, see it closest to the way the human eye does. If you use the 1D Mark IV or the 7D you will have a crop factor with every lens that you use. I also own the 1D Mark Iv and I love it too but I know how to use the lenses. I love both cameras but personally I prefer the 5D mark II. There will be a 5D mark III at the end of this year, I hear.
This video is funny. So, this video is a publicity for the 1D?
The 7D the 5D and the 1D are very very good cameras. Personally, I prefer the 5D markII, cause it have a full frame sensor like a panavision camera...
And the search for the best sensibilities on the dark is not at my sens the most important thing. These three cameras are perfect. I am in love with the 5D...
Got to agree that it would be more percise to compare the cameras with exactly same scene and optics. But from these 3 shots i like 5D shot the most and 7D the least. Colors and "feel" of 5D/1D shots are way better than 7D.
I agree with bgplotsdotcom. There is a real difference at high ISO's. Also, I shoot weddings, portraits and glamour at 200 and often have to do large prints, and the difference in test shots with a 7D and my 5D mkII were noticeable in enlargements. AF on the 7D is better though.
kind of hard to see any difference with such a small viewing area. I think once you get them up on a big screen you will see a difference. Especially with low light shoots.
I agree. It is kind of hard to tell. They are all different scenes too. It would be better if there is the same scene split doing a side by side. As for low light I have the 7D myself and can tell u the noise level in low light is pretty obvious but other than that they are quite good.
the difference in quality is too small to be spotted... go with the 7d... there's almost no difference between it and the others and it's faaaar cheaper...
Interesting, but I don't see the point of comparing camera's with three different scenes! Please post this comparison with exacty the same motional scene in the same light conditions for making a proper comparison.
Well 5D mark II has single digitc 4 processor and probably the firmware could not compensate this, but I think that 24p and 25p shouldn't be a problem ;)
I think we should not forget that these are still cameras ;) and if we compare video plus stills nomatter the price difference the 5D MK II is clear winner ;)
Indeed a very good video and much appreciated , however at this stage and this resolution I personally cant see the difference. I wish there is a verdict. Kind Regards
overall who would thinks which one is better??????

That's not correct. There is a difference..you just cant see it on this vid.
Used on sets, the 7D is more stark and doesnt deal with DOF or Colour as well as the 5D/1D.
The pro cameras have amazing colour and have this warm kind of sheen to them the 7D doesnt have due to the better sensors.
The 7D is a great camera...but its not quite on the same level.

In the end, it seems to really come down to WHAT you'll be doing. Each one has its own strong points.

For Quality, go the 5D, for more of a cinema look, go the 7D..
for low light, and you want the "cinematic film look" your going to be lighting your scenes professionally anyway. so the 7D wins there.
5D MKII has a better quality look to it, but the image looks weird at anything under 50mm.
7D sensor is more suited to a S35 film camera.
it all grinds down to what look you are after.
7D 35mm 1.4 / 5D MKII 50mm 1.4 tough choice

highlight priorities should help with white colors on 7D. (it was mentioned on the other video here). all three are good enough. thxs 4 video.
slow motion on 7d looks cool :)
