Wonderful interpretation! Do you also have Yon moon o'er the mountains by Cecilia Bartoli? It would be great if you can share it. Thanks again for sharing such gems!
@mkart9 Oh no, I don't sorry...I hope to get it one day! I posted a rehearsal of her recording "Yon moon" though. :) You're welcome...she sings such fascinating repertoire!
@olympicfreak678 "Venere bella" was actually stolen from "Un leggiadro"! A lot of music by Handel was stolen from this oratorio. So it's actually "Venere bella" that sounds like "Un leggiadro" lol!
I bought the CD on iTunes about a year ago and his was by far my favorite track and I was so happy when I found you'd put this on YouTube so I can share it.
@umroo2014 Aww I'm glad. Happy to hear it! It's an AMAZING CD!! Sure the colouratura pyrotechnics and gorgeous piano legato singing are nice, but this bonus track is just so charming...I love her ornaments on the da capo and the fact that the organist is so innovative too!
@SsteinwayS the organ is what got me (besides the obvious fact that it's Händel!)...I feel like any other singer would have sounded like she was shouting too hard. Cecilia clearly knows this song is about a cute boy! :)
@umroo2014 Yep I agree! Cecilia always does splendid things...even if it's different, it's still always an interesting interpretation. Cecilia does cute, angry, and lyrical all splendidly well!
