You have several ways to do that, since the monitor itself has no speakers or phones output on the monitor you have 3 ways I can think of to solve your problem.

1rst: Connect PS3 to AV receiver input and monitor to AV receiver output (HDMI)

2nd: Use the multiple audio output function on the PS3 sound settings and use the Composite cables that come with every PS3 (red/white color) to connect to normal PC speakers (cheap adaptor may be needed)

3 - Use the optical audio plug.

When I buy this monitor I'm going to use it with vga to my laptop, but also with external speakers. WHERE do I plug the external speakers into ? Headphone jack on laptop or into back of monitor ? ( Was worried that if monitor comes with built in audio it would cancel out external speakers but I'm not sure ) Thanks

I just bought this exact monitor a month ago and it's been having this issue where the screen would occasionally go black and then come back on. I thought it was some type of automated feature going awol, but it wasn't and I believe I have found whats been causing it. I read somewhere that the capacitors that are inside on the PCB are cheap and they overload very quickly if you don't power up the monitor first before you start your computer. ATM that's all I know to do to keep it from happening.

@nanrick14 Hi, it turned out that I broke a few gold contacts off my video card connection into the mobo. They got stuck in there and it was causing these weird problems and had to use compressed air to remove them. I was swapping cards allot then so that's probably what caused it. Now all is well and the monitor works great... thank god! =D

@chargerfun34 Hey man how do i enable the dvi port on this monitor. Mine only works via VGA port i had to use a dvi to vga adapter for my gtx 560 in order to use the VGA cable. please help!!!!
