I could never understand how Ray could find a vein, he was blind and I know that for some sighted people it's really hard to find one. I couldn't unless the conditions were perfect but to be able to shoot up in the dark is an amazing feat on its own.

ok..im reading a book about ray charles..the man his music.im just up to 1962.no doubt,this man was a genius.what gets me is when elvis died,the headlines where drug addicted rockstar dies.ect, all about the drugs.elvis took perscription drugs,and they killed him,simple as that.so why when ray charles,john lennon are spoken about,does the question of drugs not arise.ray was a smackhead for years and years,anyway im on my way to getting more ray charles c.d's thanks to this book,

Ray's awesome. You can tell that he had some counseling with his drug abuse. He knows how important it is to tell his own story as opposed to telling someone how to live their life. An important message at a critical time in the 70's

Dick Cavett was a boring interviewer. The interview that he did with Stevie Wonder was awful. But I'm glad that Ray Charles kicked his drug habit before it took him out. Ray was kind of scaring me the way that he was sitting on the edge of that chair and rocking it. I thought that it was going to turn over.
