Well. I've been over the internet about these thingies and I've come to this conclusion:

This computer is a beast BUT you could build a computer with similar preformance for over 2000$ less.

Alienware is the computers version of a Lamborghini or a Ferrari. If you've got the cash, why not get that little extra to enhance your everyday?

Its cool. No matter how much energy you put into hating this, its still like buying the 200$ jeans instead of the 50$ ones.

Besides, Its all a matter of taste...

Yes, in fact they do. Some at least. There are achievements on a lot of games on Steam as well as Games For Windows Live (in which you could get achievements for the same gamertag as you use on your xbox360) and there are also many games with a large array of integrated achievements such as World of Warcraft.
