30$ for a bug like this ? lol i used to catch so many on my summer vacation, near forests and in my orchards... and now i find out how expensive they are wtf
that's actually a reasonable price, cuz I've seen places charge 40 Euros (about 55 $) for that mantis.. and they actually live for about a year and a half.
It's still expensive for me. I used to get them $12 each until the guy I bought them from went on break from this speicies but now he says he will try to start them up again. They are such great mantids and I never had a problem with them until I left them with my cousin while I was in vegas. I had put some picked flowers in their cages as I always did except that my cousin didn't take them out and replace them. My mantises were killed by mold. Poor things. I miss having orchids.
maybe not in the U.S, I'm talking about europe and more specifically Spain, where they are very hard to find since there are few mantis breeders around here...
you are so lucky to have such a beautiful speices... ive never even seen one in real life... but i love them... they are such a cool speices of mantis... mine were carolina and chinese mantids

where did you get yours? I used to have some but have never bought more because the places I looked are chrging like $30 each! for a bug!

I'm not sure about this species, but most mantids live for an average of a few months more than a year.
