Definitely not a ripoff. Southern Metal is very distinctive, and they DO take a lot of influence form Pantera and Down. But they are not Pantera, or Down. They are the Showdown, and they brutally kick ass.

Agree with DNOMYTE, Pantera did have an influence on these guys, but they definitely ARE NOT Pantera rip-offs

Think of it this way, this band isn't trying to rip-off Pantera, but they are deeply influenced with Pantera's style, so they took a few riffs from Dimebag or w.e.

I was at a Showdown show a couple years ago and met them after the show. I forgot they were christian and told the singer I thought they sounded fucking great and he looked at me really awkwardly and made me feel bad.
