Science and God must correlate because God made our universe according to the scientific principals we observe as true. Saying that science is false is saying that the very foundation God's creation rests upon "doesn't matter" or "is a lie". Like many of my friends, I attended church services frequently (and MANY other Christian-affiliated functions) as an adolescent. Around 15 years old, I began to apply BASIC critical thinking to the stories from the bible that so many of my friends took as true. After at least two years of research, thinking, discussion, and rereading, I came to realize exactly what this book was...
I realized that the book was a collection of stories, written by men a long time ago. That's all it is, just like every other "holy" text. (after all, there are MANY others... why be choosy? ;-) )
To answer your question directly, NO. My adamant unbelief comes from rational thinking combined with a non denominational upbringing. My parents didn't say yes or no to me attending church with my friends. In fact, the the first legit religious discussion I had with my father occurred years later...

Yes, Evolution is a theory, but then so is Gravity, and we all know gravity exists. The fact that they are both theories does not take away from their soundness. They are supported by other sciences (physics, mathematics, genetics, etc...) are observable and can be tested. This is why they are accepted by the scientific community as FACT, the same community that proved the earth was NOT flat nor the center of the universe as previously perceived by the religious community.

Science and God must correlate because God made our universe according to the scientific principals we observe as true. Saying that science is false is saying that the very foundation God's creation rests upon "doesn't matter" or "is a lie". We must find the balance, strengthening our faith WITH science and not shunning the other. God wants us to learn... If you don't believe in survival of the fittest, look at the business world (and the wild). May God tend to our souls as we grow in Him.

I agree that science and God must correlate. But sometimes scientists seem to contradict God. If I am forced to choose then I must choose to believe God.
Science has been proven wrong many times - and over time they will discover more truth that will ultimately support God.

This song is amazing, my best friend has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and I have faith that God will see her through and heal her. I am a believer and am not afraid to say it. And I went through and read all the comments made by this "nathan" person and I'm sorry that you haven't witnessed God's work and come to believe. I can't look at this beautiful world and not believe in a God. I must say that you are missing out.

The only reason you "know" and "love" the Judeo Christian god is because you were either raised in a faithful family or "came to Jesus" later (which I regard as nonsense). In the first case, I wouldn't blame you for believing: if I liken your life to a house of cards, the "religion card" would be on the bottom, along with other BASIC cards like speech, walking... it'd be difficult to see life without an imaginary friend, especially when millions of other people have a similar friend...

To lend credit to the existence of YOUR GOD.

As a preemptive action, I'll say that I don't regard verses from the poorly-written, questionably-(re)translated, 2000 year-old collection of sheep herder myths to be of much help... ;-)

Nathan, are you sure that the "only reason" I know and love God is because I was raised that way? If your "religion card" theory is correct, the same can be said for your "atheist card". Is the reason for your adamant unbelief because it is what you were taught? Are you simply accepting what you were taught as fact?

I never said that was the "only reason". Re-read my reply. Actually, the same is NOT true for my Atheist card. Like many of my friends, I attended church services frequently (and MANY other Christian-affiliated functions) as an adolescent. Around 15 years old, I began to apply BASIC critical thinking to the stories from the bible that so many of my friends took as true. After at least two years of research, thinking, discussion, and rereading, I came to realize exactly what this book was...

I realized that the book was a collection of stories, written by men a long time ago. That's all it is, just like every other "holy" text. (after all, there are MANY others... why be choosy? ;-) )
To answer your question directly, NO. My adamant unbelief comes from rational thinking combined with a non denominational upbringing. My parents didn't say yes or no to me attending church with my friends. In fact, the the first legit religious discussion I had with my father occurred years later...

I most CERTAINLY have an open mind! However, as I'm sure you've heard before: your extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence! Obviously, purely faith-based claims are simply inadequate, for such claims can be made about ANYTHING.

I graduated. But I believe that there has to be more than just a big bang that caused all this into exsistance. There was NO way that this complex body design came from any other than God. Yes, Evolution is a theory, but then so is Gravity, and we all know gravity exists. The fact that they are both theories does not take away from their soundness. They are supported by other sciences (physics, mathematics, genetics, etc...) are observable and can be tested. This is why they are accepted by the scientific community as FACT, the same community that proved the earth was NOT flat nor the center of the universe as previously perceived by the religious community.

well nelsonsb2, it is very hard to put an entire theology into just one song. this is a great song and should be on the radio. i think what Lee Ann Womack was trying to do was plant a seed in people's heads about creation. aka: there is no way that everything in the world could have happened out of chance. it was DESIGNED. ...and thank you bethypratt for making this video. very well made. :)
