  • Had this in my store... consignment from a developer friend of mine. The company had been sending copies of the game to American devs hoping one of them would want to handle the American version, but he received so many such attempts that he had never even opened this game.

  • @VanceHill

Interesting historical tidbit and thanks for sharing. It was released during a time when first-person adventure games of its kind were more prominent, so it is really is a shame no developer picked it up. I have this game and it is an experience unlike any other. The American market really missed out.

  • I bought this while I was in japan

  • I wish that they had released it in the USA as they promised. :< This game was featured on my Playstation box. :(

  • i do wanna play this again!!

this is the most amazing, ingenius RPG i have ever played!

  • @sakiyan23 I definitely agree. It's my Top1 PS1 RPG.

  • @rotkappchen Is it an RPG? Looks more like an adventure game.

  • I believe this is many kowloon gate fans still, why dont we suggest the creater make a sequel, we will enjoy to enter the kowloon world again!

  • This game is available on Japanese PSN store now.

  • I have the soundtrack still and I still listen to it from time to time.

  • Artdink is wonderful,

  • no, this isnt by Atlus - it's by a little-known company called "Artdink," which, unfortunately, rarely gets its games released out of Japan. some games that did get out, however, are Aquanaut's Holiday, Carnage Heart, and Tail of the Sun. Long ago i happened to see a trailer for this, was really hopeful it'd come out... too bad for me. =7

  • Ah yes, I remember seeing the trailers you mentioned as well. They had come on a disc from Ultra Game Players in '96, though I can't remember what month. They were wonderfully atmospheric and got me very excited about the game; I used to watch them over and over again. It is a shame the game was never released in English.

  • This isn't by Artdink, either. This is originally created by Sony Music Entertainment in Japan, then publish licence has moved to Artdink.

  • Carnage Heart was sweet.

  • @feighnt It's actually by a group of ex Quintet developers.

  • Do you have the full version of the Kowloon Gate story? If you have the movie, please upload it again.

  • I suppose this game takes place in the Kowloon walled city

  • Wow, it must be made by Atlus because it's way too similar to deSPIRIA.
