@ParanormalRob yep analogue encryption methods 12yrs ago. computing power came to the point where you could actually try and put the picture back together (although wobbly on same colour parts) Sky uses digital conditional encryption on astra 28e. 19e has mainly digital fta / encrypted channels now of france, germany and spain.

@andrewcbo They were testing @ the uplink it looks like.. what does WATERSHED mean (and, do they still do that)? Noticed the channel changed (or did you do that) So, the UK doesn't use astra now? this is something we could have used in the states.. ohh wait, it was called primestar but that got bought out!

Apparently, the Videocrypt encoding system wasn't very reliable, as according to acouple videos on here, there were alot of dropouts, where the scrambling would turn off for a few seconds

the last of the analogue sky multi channels were shut off in September of 2001.  analogue satellite it self has yet to be completely shut off, even though more channels get canned every month.
